Yes the load would be from before I made the save. I loaded up a game started designing a ship. Way to many hours later I saved may design and quit the game without saving my game. I though saving the design was enough. Then last night when I loaded the game that game would have been before I started the design, so the design isn't there. The ship is in my games folder though. It also shows up in the shipyard that you can access through the main menu before

I designed a new ship in the game I was playing. I saved the ship then exited the game. When I reloaded the game the ship didn't show up in the shipyard. I exited the game, and I found the files for the ship I just created. So, I went back into the game and went to the shipyard from the man menu and it is there, but it doesn't show up in the the game. Why? It doesn't require any techs besides the hugh hulls, which I have since I started designing it in the

They are using only beams. It wasn't alot of damage just 10hp I think. So, you have seen this. Is it a bug? Is there a combat log somewhere that shows how much they actually hit with before your defense negate it?

Well the tank plan seems to be working. I have a tank ship with 400+ shields that can handle being shot at by a fleet of DreadLords. As for how the game is going, well the AI's are worthless. They only colonized one world of any. The Yor just about destoried the Iconians who only have one planet now up near DreadLord's space. Who knows why they took a planet up there. The DreadLords still only have their original 4 planets. They have tried to take m

I built a tank ship with 400+ shields to block for my fleet while taking on the DreadLords. That is working very well. But even with my sheilds higher than the DreadLords fleet attack value my tank can still take damage sometimes. How is that? Shouldn't my shields being higher make me immune to them.

With the combat tie rule does it take into account bonuses like from starbases or is just based off of the ship?

Does the bonus show up anywhere after you build the ship, so you can look at a ships stats and know if it has the bonus?

I will let you know when I have found a good plan. So far I am building a ton of tiny ships with lots of guns. You just have to have fleets larger than the amount of guns the Dread Lord ship has. That way when you destory him in the first round you will still have a ship left, so you win. Although you still loose alot of ships this way. I am going to try creating a tank ship with one gun, lots of defenses, and an atlas module. The atlas module will cause

I think I would only make them if they were constantly being attaked and you need the income. That way you force the AI to put considerable resources into destroying your freighters not just some little fighter. Plus assuming you are not charged for replacement freighters that are auto generated when you loose one you would be getting alot of bang for your buck since if your freighter could take out 1 ship in a fleet of 2 the next freighter generated would take out the other one.<

I have only been playing the compaign so far, but I have an idea. To get a minor to win have your tried this. Destory the last AI planet with a Terror Star and on the same turn give everything to a minor. If you cannot give all your planets to the minor use a Terror Star to destory the system your last planet is in. I don't know if that will work or not, but basically I was trying to think of away to destroy the last AI and you on the same turn.

What about flee modules with the same type of effect, but a different module. Say you research a module that increases defense 20% and has a size 5, and you trade for a module that inscreases defense by 20% but has a size of 4. Do they stack sense they are diffenet modules or sense they both give a defenese bonus only one works? I just made the numbers up, but you get the picture I hope.

I am on this mission also and have never stolen a tech from the Dread Lords. I am also playing the Ultimate Edition. Did this change?

My fault I was talking about Mission 6: Apocalypse. I saw Stalker mention the 4 planets to the north held by the Dread Lords just like the Apocalypse mission I am on and thought that was the mission he was talking about. Plus him not being able to end it which is a bug in the Apocalypse mission due to victory conditions set wrong.

I have found that screen. You can also set production focus there by clicking on the number under what ever production you want to focus on. You can also tell the planet what ship to build. That is all I remember now, but it is very usefull screen.

They start with fighters in orbit around there planet the best I can tell. I rush bought a cargo hull with engines and life support on it the first round in the mission and flew it straight there. When I got there the Dread Lords had all four planets with ships in orbit. So, I am trying to built fleets of small fighters. At this point in the game the Dread Lords are sending scout ships everywhere. I expect to be attacked/invaded soon. Any suggestions for

Well I tried to rush and take the four Dread Lord planets, but by the time I got there they already had ships in orbit around their planets. Do they start with planets in orbit, or did I just rush to slow? Well that let to researching +soldiering techs to with stand the incoming invasions. Eventually, The Dread Lords captured all the Drath's worlds then eventually started capturing my worlds. I will say it would take several invasions thanks to my soldiering techs.&nbs

I know the wiki link is all voluntary. I assumed, maybe incorrectly, that the goal of that site was to provide all the details that are known. The site is a great resource if it provides less information than in the manual, the same amount of information than in the manual, or every detail about the game. I thank everyone who has added content to it. I didn't mean to upset anyone.

Online links about how combat should specifiy ever detail. That is the point in them, to tell you what the "instructions" don't. Plus not every one uses the battle viewer. I do use it but when I posted that I was at work and couldn't check it out. So, I was wondering if I was remembing what it showed wrong, sense I have only had time to play it a few times since I got it not long ago.

15 Replies 10,408 Views

That way sounds better and is how I though it worked until I read your link. I read "in each combat round ALL (also destroyed) ships fire (no more first strike)" as to mean all ships ever destoryed not just the ones in the current combat round.
