1. Game bugs/issues I've been playing these games & expansions for a couple of years now... and whatever 'crashing' events i experienced were mostly (99% of the time) caused by my END of 'puter settings & hardware. Besides, SD staff & coders are professional enough to FIX, TWEAK, debug their own extremely_near_flawless game(s) often enough that my leisure time is shielded with three thick Duranth
GalCiv2 is simply too buggy in various aspects. Are you sure you're playing the latest 2.02 version? Because I haven't seen any gamebreaking bugs or CTDs for quite a while.
Someone below posted the 2.02 for my Ultimate Edition came up yesterday! Downloading it right now. Wow, another bug? I produced a freighter from Haven, sent it to Grace to make Grace the source, then sent it to its destination Begle. The trade route showed up as Haven-to-Begle, yet the route value is much higher than from Haven to nearby Tralar. Either a bug, or it's just not possible to produce a freighter on one planet and freely make another planet its source. Actually, my first complaint is that GalCiv2 forum servers are terribly slow, slow enough for me to finish lunch befo
It's a bug, but it's hardly new. Been around since day 1, it's pretty unlikely to get changed now.
Wow. This hardly seems like a difficult bug to fix. What's going on? Isn't Stardock taking in bug reports officially somewhere? I bought this game because of the supposed great support. The team on Sins of a Solar Empire deals with issues relentlessly; the latest version is so much better. As for bugs, I'v

When I researched Phasors (the first level, Mark 1?), the Star Fury design disappears altogether. Why? I had several starports building these tiny potent dart in 1 turn. When Phasors got researched the next turn, all starports were building nothing. Bug?
Are you sure the production gets wasted? I know when it comes to research, research left over from researching your current project goes to the next research project (unfortunately, not always the one you want ... and yeah sometimes you do lose the research if its at the final end of a tech tree). I thought production would do the same, leftover going into the next ship.
On a quick glance, I think overproduction really

This happens in the F6 (Civilization Manager) screen. Whenever the "Colonies" screen is estimating completion time for upgrading projects, it is highly inaccurate. I've had to constantly go to the actual planet screen to get the proper estimate. Is this a bug, this late in development (v1.97)? Also, just when is Impulse and patch support for Ultimate Edition coming? Is it coming at all, since it was promised some time early Dec 2008?
So, does the number of turns taken to complete the game factor into the final score? Most definitly. So you must find that happy medium on buildup vs time spent. People who play a sandbox game in a certain way for very large 6-7 digit scores do this. They will check every so often to see if a win is starting to bring in less points.
Doesn't seem right. Someone (Nojfe) finished the "Rock and Hard Place"
16) Metaverse scores should be based on how soon you win, and they should factor in how tough your starting position is. Take an educated guess. If you start with a Precursor Mine on your home planet, nerf the Metaverse score. Not based on how much money/influence/research/starships you have at the end, or anything any joe schmo can do after the game's basically already won.
You mean it currently isn't

I'm trying to finish each game in the shortest time possible. However, it seems that the score is computed based on the amount of material accumulated (eg, number of ships, amount of influence, etc). That would suggest I need to avoid finishing off the game quickly, and instead concentrate on building a unrealistically huge empire on a medium tournament map. So, does the number of turns taken to complete the game factor into the final score?

Wow, I discovered this thread only after buying the Ultimate Edition, which was the only edition around. The retail stores here don't carry older titles. I'll return this tomorrow. Won't be fiddling with GalCiv 2 anymore, I guess. Gosh, such issues. Going back to Sins of a Solar Empire. It's been a month since this problem was spotted, and still no resolution. I have the feeling this won't be resolved.

Under "My Games" tab in Impulse, I don't see GalCiv2. I bought the GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition from a retail store. My Sins of a Solar Empire shows up fine, though. Help? Thanks.
