I think a border system like Civ IV's should definitely be implemented in GalCiv III...
RickSmith
because I love Galciv II soooo much, and it's so perfect, that the thought of not playing it anymore because I'm busy with III makes me sad. Galciv II is without exaggeration, the best PC game, I've had the pleasure of playing. So please guys, don't bother making a galciv III and let me enjoy II for eternity. :)
Sorry for the long delay. Been busy. Still have to sit down write this all out. Tomorrow is busy, but here's looking to Friday.
Can't wait! Thanks Tolmekian...
Tolmekian- I would just resize all the pics to about 500 or 600 pixels wide. I use photoshop or lightroom for this, I'm not sure what software you have though...
I noticed when I met and spoke to the altarians just a few turns into the game that they hade about 6 or 8 techs on their side of the bargaining table, how did they get these so quickly? The difficulty level is 'tough'. also, sometimes after just a few turns one of the AI races will create a galactic wonder, how the heck do they do that so fast?? Thanks all.
Hi Tolmekian. It looks like it was my crappy old keyboard that was causing the screenshot problem. I bought a new keyboard and now it works! I did change the range to -150, but to be honest I'm not sure if it's working when I go in the game. I had heard that changing the range doesn't work in Twilight of the Arnor, is this true?
Great AAR Tolmekian! I have a question though. Early on, you said you convinced the Torians to avoid your space. Was this added for a narrative flair, or is this something you can do in game?? Thanks :) ** oh, one more thing, you say you can use ctrl + print screen to save a screenshot, but this doesn't work for me at all. where is the folder where it saves them located? Thanks much!
Planet Quality. Like 10, 12, etc.
awesome as always! Thank you :D
I prefer this style of AAR to the ones that are just one long story with no pics... Then you might like my old AAR for DA with lots of pics. Detailed Suicide Medium Map DA AAR!
That's a great one! If anyone has any other links to similar AAR's, I'd love them. I like the ones with lots of game details and pictures and less on the narrative...and how is every
one other thing, how do you do these nice screenshots? I see where you can set the file type for screenshots, but I don't see in the manual how to take one. I tried 'print screen' ctrl+printscreen alt+printscreen...nothing.
I haven't even read it yet...but THANK YOU for doing a new one! :) I prefer this style of AAR to the ones that are just one long story with no pics... **say, how are you doing that range penalty? I'd love to do that in my games**
it's kind of funny that you ask. I've actually tried this for my mod...but it doesn't work in TA. Apparently when recoding the abilities for TA, something was messed up with the range code and now range penalties have no effect on the game (eventhough they show up in the civ manager). Both Macmatt and I have tried it and i asked kryo about it. -Dave
ah well. Thanks though...
Cool. thanks :)
I read in one of the AAR's that he set all the races to a -200 range penalty, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Can anyone help? Thanks.
My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\ScreenShots Actually, I pressed Ctrl + print screen several times during a game and when I went to look, I noticed that I don't have this folder...do I need to manually create it?
A few planets *SHOULD* be bleeding money like mad. Your tech and manufacturing capitals, for instance. That is not a problem, that is good gameplay.
Ohh...ok. It's usually maybe, 3 out of 15 planets. maybe that IS normal.
Sometimes, when I'm looking at the Civ manager screen, I'll see that a few planets are losing money. How can I fix this? Does this mean that too many things are in the build queue? Thanks.
allthumbs - I was where you are now, about a month ago. It took a lot of searching and reading to be able to play, but it is SO worth it. This is truly a unique game. Stick with it, learn all you can, and enjoy... :)
Ctrl+PrintScreen puts a shot in My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\ScreenShots.
Perfect! Thank you...
I searched for 'screenshot' and got zero hits...I see that there's an option for what kind of file it saves screenshots as, but I'm not sure how to take one. Also, what folder does it save them in? Thanks all...
did I stump everyone with this one?
Sure. That's called ferrying. Just move the transport onto the planet, and then re-launch it with only 1 population.
Ah yes...thank you!
...To add to the population? If so, how do you do it? Thanks much.
Hello, I recently designed what I thought was a really big ship, huge hull size...the info screen said it was 1500 meters long. But when I engage a couple of fighters, they appear in the combat viewer to about a third the length of my capital ship. I would have thought that tiny or small hull size ships would be like flies buzzing around this thing. So, does the combat viewer scale down the size of really big ships?
