"Diplomatic Relations" missing from tech tree in campaign games? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi there, I recently bought GalCivII Dread Lords + both addons via stardock's download service, so I assume that I have the latest versions of the games installed.. now I started playing the Dread Lords campaign and getting hints about reasearching trade and trading in general. But when I look at the tech tree, the prerequisite "Diplomatic Relations" is missing! It's only there when I start a custom game. Is this a bug? Thnx for some info.
