I thought there was a difference between basic farm and xeno farm
So most of the early turns are spent building ships to explore, colonise and mine? To mine, do I just send my miner to the 'rock'?

I'm new to the game and have to admit its extremely frustrating having to find things out for yourself. Actual gameplay pointers are pretty hard to come by. My first question is...why can't I build a basic farm? The tile doesn't need improving. All other options are there such as research lab, entertainment centre and factory.
