Impulse finishes Patch 1.1 with download error in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

I've tried without sucess to download the SINS patch 1.1. When downloading impulse hangs at 1.7% downloaded for 1-2 minutes then carries on to complete the download. It then reports a faulty download. I've attempted to disbale AVG on the Impulse path, but I really don't like diabling Anti-Virus for a download. Is there any other way to get this Patch? Is there anything I can do with Impulse? Otherwise... I'm baffled!..

Same here. I've tried to download the patch 3 times without sucess. It appears the patch is only available via Impulse, so I'm pretty well stuffed.

Hmmm... I've just started playing the game and I'm a little confused about this Fleet size thing. The most I can build is/was 13 - Either cruisers or Frigates. I went to attack the nearby enemy plant and it was swarming with ships. Made my 13 look a little... puny... I am missing something here? I maxed out all Warfare and Tactical research and gave up bothering with the last levels of civil research as there really wasn't much else I could do.
