Since this mod crashes easily, I was thinking about using some things from it and combining it with Gaunauthor's Autumn Twilight mod. It seems that this mod is too heavily loaded with ship models, so I would like to decrease the number of hulls to the minimum (there are 421 MB in models folder of this mod). The problem is that I have no way of knowing which files of the total 2040 are used for which ship templates. Can anyone help with this?

This mod is absolutely fantastic. I love you and hate you at the same time for it, as it has brought me back to wasting time playing after a few years. For the first time, AI seems capable enough to offer an interesting game. For my skill level and play style, this means that I like how the AI will now develop more then one defense tech line, so he is able to defend himself much more efficiently than before. I would like to combine this mod with Star Trek vs Star Wars mod.
A good option would be to make all equipment which is placed on ships invisible if the player chooses to do so. If you are playing a mod, and say, you have a Galaxy class Federation ship, it is pretty much ruined with all attachments of weapons and engines which are placed on it.
As for the research rate, it can be simply changed in the galaxy type menu, I just thought that the creator of the map had some idea in mind when he set it as very slow. About the "TA editor" - whatever that is... Are you able to make this mod to work in DA or TA? If so, please explain, in detail. :) As for the tunes... On this site: http://www.trekcore.com/ you can find quite a few free and easily downloadable .mp3 from all five series and some from the movies. And th
I am not very experienced either, but here are a couple of thoughts: - until you gain more experience, you shouldn't play on harder difficulty then "tough" - I like planets and stars set to common, just like you. It seems that if you set either of them to "abundant" it drastically reduces the probability of finding bonuses on planet tiles. Bare in mind that this means that the AI probably has some "jewelery" planets of his own - I think that you don't need that many ec
It didn't work like you said, I've tried it. But, eventually, I made the mod work, and it was the most unusuall installation I've ever seen. It seems you have to install the mod before launching the game, not just copy the .exe file. I created a Mods\Star Trek folder, and copied StarTrekBetaV3.exe in it. Then I launched the file. Even though nothing was showing up on screen, the hard drive was working, and I let it do it's thing, whatever that may be. After 10 to 15 minutes, a normal
We are all looking forward to these fancy new options, but I have two simple questions about 2.0: 1. Will Drengin and Korath colonize normally, like other races? 2. Will Altarians and Terrans build normal fleets? Thanks.
OK, I found the program which joins the split .zip file. I previously thought that split .zip files work in the same way as .rar, but they don't. Also, once I checked the option "use modes" in DL options, new folder has appeared. I have extracted the .zip file, so, now I have a 1.28 GB StarTrekBetaV3.exe file located inside folder C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods\Default. There are also seven subfolders. I guess that this mod should have to be somehow installed, but I don't
I have no idea how to make this mod work!!!! Somebody, please help! I have downloaded all 15 files from RapidShare, but they are in unusable format .zip.001.html. Usually, when the stupid .html extension is present, I just delete it and the files work. But where do you place the numbers? .zip.001 type of file also doesn't open. And when I renamed all 15 files like this: StarTrekBetaV3001.zip, the computer reports "unexpected end of archive" and "the archive is either in an unknown for
OK, thanks, but wouldn't you say that DA offers a "more reliable" AI then TA? For example, I haven't noticed this production bug, but I don't have the time nor the passion to play very much, either. I play a game or two, and that's it for me for many months. (What I want to say is that, to me, that production bug hasn't been an issue.) So, DA AI can sometimes disappoint, but not drastically, while TA AI can, quite often, offer no resistance whatsoever. I guess it's just differen
I don't really understand what you wanted to say, can you clarify?
Back during the Beta, Brad rolled through the AI on it's first (?) visit since the DL release.
During the Beta of what - DA or TA?
There were some horrid AI bugs like (I think) his favortite being when the AI tried to make a 1-per-civ buidling on ALL of it's planets and once it finished on one
OK, I know that it should be ToA, that it is the most advanced expansion, etc. The truth is that I don't care much about specific tech trees for different races, or about new spying options (I rarely use spying anyway). For all I care, even if developers went back to antiqued graphic and limited options from the original Master of Orion (yes, the one made in 1993), but if the AI was improved to be even more challenging, that would be the best game for me. I haven't play
Would it be possible to make this DL mod work in DA? From my experience, AI in DA is FAR SUPERIOR to the one in DL.
Coooool [e digicons]:w00t:[/e] As soon as I finish my current DA medium size galaxy game which is, by far, the most interesting GalCiv2 game I ever had, I'll try this out.
I am very interested in BETA 2, if you have a way to share it, please do! As long as Dderidex warbirds, kvort birds of pray and Galaxy class "exploration ships" :) are there, and AI plays his good GalCiv2 game, I am all for it!

I had to rename every race logo file to RaceLogo(some number).png to get them to be recognized by the game. Whatever works for you I'm just glad they work. We are running the same game...Obviously, once you finish your mod, it won't work for me. :( </

AF_Ronin, at first, I was unable to make your ships work, just as some other members. Then I looked around in different folders and saw that ShipStyles and Gfx folder are not supposed to be extracted to appropriate folders in the path you provided: C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\. I had to extract the folder ShipStyles to C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\English\ShipStyles and the race logo file from folder Gf
