Quoting BoogieBac, reply 5ObjC: Are you playing in windowed mode, but at your desktop's resolution? Nope, in fullscreen. In window mode there is no such problem. Also in fullscreen it only happens if the taskbar is positioned either at the left or top. No problems with taskbar positioned at the right or bottom. And with taskbar set to auto-hide it could be positioned at any side without causing any problems.
I hav

Since the game updater did not give any warnings about this, and the game didn't pop up with a dialog "This savegame is incompatible with this version" but crashed hard instead, this is a bug no matter how you look at it. I have re-started a new save, so workarounds aren't needed. To keep the thread clean, I pre-reply to a few comments that always seem to show up around bug reports. 1. "I imagine handling old savegames is hard." I don't care abou

After updating to 1.01, Sins crashes hard when trying to load my old savegame from 1.00. Also tried several autosaves with identical results. The game freezes, and when i Alt-Tab out I see the "Minidump saved" dialog. OK that and I get the standard windows "Sins has stopped working" dialog. Link goes to crash dump file - download expires around february 26. Using Windows7 64-bit.

I get this too. Haven't really touched DG since launch because of all the problems, so I thought I'd give 1.1 a go. Click multiplayer. Click internet. 1,5 minutes freeze-up before next screen. Click Login. 1,5 minutes freeze-up before next screen. Click Pantheon. 1,5 minutes freeze-up before next screen. :( Screw this. Q
1. Update your game. The problem mentioned in this thread has been patched out.
Doesn't look like it - I re-downloaded "GalCiv II" and both attachments just yesterday, started a new "GalCiv II - Twilight of the Arnor" game, and immediately ran into this problem. If I take the engine off the initial scout design, there's no room to put it back.
<br

The current beta is very far from what they plan to release, especially with regards to balance and networking/matchmaking , so don't pay attention to any reviews on those matters. That aside, my short review of the current Demigod beta is that it is shiny , addictive , and it warms my cynical old gamer soul.

I can answer one of your questions at least: If you just pre-ordered, you're too late to be in the beta. An a more general advice, I'd recommend having a vanilla XP partition for games, and a whatever-else partition for everything else. (Personally, I have a standard XP partition for gaming only, and a Ubuntu partition for everything else. Doing serious work in Windows is pain, and getting games to work in Ubuntu is more pain.)

1. Stances: I don't see the need for that added complexity; you already get the same gameplay effect by spending your money on armor (defensive) vs gloves (attack) vs mixed (neutral). 2. Layer: Basically two experience counters and another skill tree, but why? If both sides get it, it won't favour the losing side just like that. In most RTS', when you are behind you can play smart and work your

In Pantheon games, Rook, Regulus, Sedna and Oak are the only ones that can be on the light team. The rest can be on the dark team. In custom games, you can mix and match as you like. In both game types, multiples of the same demigod are allowed.
