Is there a way to have a govenor or even just a galaxy wide method for upgrading built ships of one type to another type? For example, in my current game I have three defense ships at each of my planets and after getting some new technologies, I would like to upgrade all of these to a newer, better model. Is there a way to do this, or do I have to click upgrade in the management menu for all of these ships (24 in this case)? Thanks in advance.

Anyways, it took me a couple of games to get the hang of it - the different sliders, constructing/purchasing, the importance of early colony ships, trading with other civilizations, etc. After figuring things out I was able to play a couple small maps successfully. I have enjoyed the game, although I still don't fully understand everything and am definitely still learning the game, but it w
So I've been thinking about giving GalCiv2 a try and then last night I see that you can buy GalCiv through impulse for $3.99. So my question for those of you that have played both: Is GalCiv worth playing or is the gameplay of GalCiv2 that much better that I should just go straight to it? Can anyone tell me how the gameplay differs between the two? Thanks in advance.
