I un-installed and stopped playing GalCiv2 almost a month ago. Sorry I didn't mention it sooner. Just don't want to play anymore. Nothing against anyone, I just got tired of the game.

That's why it's called diplomacy. The only real problem I see with the AI is that it isn't tactical enough. The only time I demand planets from the AI (or have ever been able to) is when my military power is 10x greater than their military power. That sounds pretty realistic to me. And it's real power too. I have seen the point about going to war. Usually it only costs a few thousand BC.. but maybe the AI wants to go to war in the first place and just needs a reas

I nominate Neilo for Commissioner of the MVL. And... we should just add this clause. 1. New Commissioner every three rounds. If incumbent Commish wishes to remain after three rounds and noone wants the job then he/she gets it automatically. Normal election rules apply if there is another nominated candidate. How time consuming is this position, really? It seems like something one could spend 15-20 minutes daily and be productive/meet deadlines etc. yes?
Have you noticed any recurring things a particular AI does? I'm curious to know. I play on tough level. I've noticed that the Arceans and Thalans seem to be the easiest to defeat for some reason. My first ZYW was against the Thalans.

Thanks for posting this. I'm getting slow response times between turns on the tune of two minutes with a gigantic all abundant DL 1.5 game. I have a Athlon 64 3200+ (2 Ghz), 1 GB DDR2 Ram and a 256 MB Geforce 6600 video card. It appears that I am 200 Mhz off from the recommended requirements. Is there a sticky somewhere for some tips or would a Stardock guru give us some tips? :-)
