Hey man welcome =) I'm new too =D and like you, I thoroughly enjoy the game. Nice ship btw =)

rofl. She has already researched War Profiteering as well. She just loves to stir up problems between her mother and I. Ugh, future inlaws. =( No sign of a Diplomacy Victory there. Gonna have to be an all out Conquest. >:D Meanwhile, inlaws are going for an Ascension Victory. Apparently to them, they could do no wrong lol. Anyone got a Terror Star I could borrow?
[quote]And seeing how powerful diplomacy is now, I'm real interested in creating a race with eco/diplo in mind... and funding the galaxy to take itself out. Man ideas ideas ideas. You'll like the Drath then One of my favorite races.[/quote] Will def try them then =) [quote]Get her some flowers...Flowers... which Tech Tree are those a part of?[/quote] Dude.. starting that Tech Tree would put me on the path of actually having to research "Let's Hurry Up And Ge
After a few posts and inqueries and demo time, I decided to buy the Ultimate bundle when ToA was released =) And I did. And I couldn't stop playing (thank god I have this week off of work lol). So I did a large galaxy, everything else default. max # of opponents, max # of subraces. I played as the Korath. I did start as beginner, seeing it was my first time. ...so... 8 yrs, 4 months, and 3 weeks later, I achieve a diplomacy victory lol. I cou
[quote]So from the original description, the path is to eventually conquer the planet, correct? So if you have a choice of being a herbivore or a carnivore, whats the advantage to NOT being the one that can eat you? Are there different victory conditions like GC?[/quote] It's more of a sandbox. Once you conquer your planet, you can eventually tech up to the Space Age. Go explore different planets, abduct other creatures, populate planets, terraform, yadda. <br/
How would it be enjoyable? The most important distinction between playing the AI and playing an opposing human is the concept that humans are fallible. They make mistakes. Why would you want an AI programmed that makes absolutely 0 mistakes, calculates thousands of turns ahead, and is always one step ahead of you? Having one that can slip up from time to time, and allow you the opportunity to recognize and capitalize on their mistake (i.e, playing a human) would be much more fun in my o
Rgr that, purchased it and it is =) btw... ToA is AMAZING. The graphics are top-notch wow. I enjoy thoroughly =) While I can't comment on the intricacies seeing I am a new player, I can see that there is a HUGE difference right off the bat as soon as you load into a game. Huge difference.
790-1024kb/s :HOT: btw.. amazing. Simply amazing. Everything looks SO much better and crisper and wow.
Yep, it went relatively quick for me. I uninstalled and reinstalled already. An extra 15 mins for peace of mind = priceless.
TBH, It happened to me too. And I'm a firm believer in a fresh clean install. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall as well. Having some files come from one version, and the rest coming from another kind of makes me wary heh. To each his own though =)
Bingo. That did it. Once you deselect pre-release versions, it does infact remove the 0.99[rc] version =) Thank you very much Film! [img]http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/9650/rcssx2wj5.jpg[/img] hurray!
[img]http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/2193/rcssyi6.jpg[/img] Well, it has today's date. It wasn't the [b] I downloaded earlier (lol, yea. I just purchased the Ultimate pack =D ) But, it isn't a 1.xx release. It is still 0.xx , and kryo mentioned this is still Beta. I don't think this is the same as the release version =P Of course, I could be wrong.
Just out of curiosity... what's your average amount of turns/weeks used to complete a game? And... what is your record for the most turns/weeks used to complete a game? Basically looking for your longest game =)
This may sound real corny but... some of my first creatures will be some GC2 races lol. It seems viable =) Maybe pretend this is how that race came about.
I on the other hand am a relatively new gamer =) And since we are talking Strategy, I'll stick to my limited experience there. [B] Total Annihilation [/b] My first ever RTS. I liked it, but I was young. I couldn't micro very well, and I lost alot online. Mainly played campaign. [B]Alpha Centauri[/B] I bought this game thinking it was some kind of shooter. I dunno. I was young then, probably 14 or 15, and bought the first thing I saw when I saved up enough m
Out of curiosity, has anyone else out there been waiting years for this title to release? If so... fear not, for September 7th 2008 is upon us. Finally. But, all we can do is hold our breath. Those who know, this game's release date has been pushed back year after year. Month after month. However this time, we have a specific day. Not just a quarterly prediction, or a general month.. a month, day, and a year. [img]http://boxofrain.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/spore_logo_1622431a1.jpg[/img
[quote]Fueled with barley and hops.[/quote] Best one yet. 10/10
It's a good thing I took this week off of work =) I love vacation time =D And...what a beautiful coincidence... ToA comes out =D
I use a free one ... go to http://www.imageshack.us There, you can upload your pics. I just saved my screenshots as JPEG's, and uploaded. Once there are uploaded, just throw on image tags around the link. I believe the image button above will actually just let you plug the URL in, and it will add the tags for you. One last question.... is the Ultimate bundle package the GC2 Gold + ToA , or is it just the 3 individually? I only ask, because I noticed some things
Awesome thanks guys =) You've all been very helpful and patient with me! Nothing like the support of a great community for a great game =)
My first attempt at a ship design. I did in the demo earlier lol. I saw a dead scorpion in the light fixture... decided to try and make a ship that resembled one. I had no idea the Ship Builder was this flexible... ugh double post... sorry.
Ok. I downloaded the demo. Where the heck has this gem been hiding? I can't believe I missed it. Wow. I went in expecting a flat diplomacy concept (I love intricate, lots of options, type of diplomacy). I went in expecting horrible graphics. I went in expecting just another shallow game. All I can say is oh my lordie. Boy was I WRONG. Flat out WRONG. So.. I launched the demo. And, as I did expect, alot of features were disabled. No problem, I'm just looking f
lol, wow. What a response =) Thank you very very very much. Sounds like the game for me. What is the release date for Twilight? I'll probably just buy the bundle =)
Howdy =) I recently dusted off my copy of SoTS after playing Sins of a Solar Empire. The game is fun... but it lacks a certain amount of depth I like. To be honest, the political/alliance aspect of the game are a joke heh. Reach x% of happiness with a faction, and you can have x rights (via trade agreement, ship/planet vision, etc). Seems very.. bleh. Anyhow... after putting a few hours into SoTS (no BoB exp), I decided to look into GalCiv2. Is it deeper
