Also, when you make contact with the Iconians or Krynn now they say "morality message X" (X being a random number I imagine). There's also a Dread Lord ship called "Dread Lord Lollypop" for some reason. :p

I can't help with this, but I've also ran into a campaign stopping glitch. I'm on Apocolypse, and my team conquered the four dread lord planets before I did, and the game won't end. Under victory conditions it says I'm 100% of the way to winning. I culturally flipped three of the DL starting planets, and traded for the last one, but that didn't finish it. I even researched Technological victory, but that didn't work either. Thankfully I've already done the DL campaign.

If you're running the latest version of the game, the dread lords are virtually impossible to defeat. I did manage to get past Achilles' Heel myself, but that's only from the dread lords being dumb. The key is to not build anything, to be honest. Just infrastructure. Put down some farms and maybe something to boost population and then sit there and skip turns until you reach the end of the weaponry tech tree. That's how I did it, and I don't see how else you're supposed to. I'd really

It'd look silly otherwise.
are you only editing the races in-game? If it's a clean copy not modified by hand, it should not be possible for it to be meta-unsafe.
I'm only editing them in game. I have modded before, but only with the dialogue in the GC2_Conversations file and my old DA custom race. (this one is new) I didn't play beta, so have no beta races. My copy is clean.

Hey all, I'm trying to make a new race and use it in a metaverse game, but I'll see an error message telling me that my custom race is 'invalid' and my metaverse score won't be submitted if I use it. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to make my race 'valid' and why the hell I need to come here and ask instead of being told the reason in game or maybe in my manual? I'm running TOA btw, but I'm quite certain this happens in DA too.
Looks good, but I hope you'll fix some of those typos and mistakes before release. Not to be a nuisance or presumptious, but I've been "correcting" the XML files for my personal use & would be happy to share. I'm not claiming I'm a master grammarian, but my father *was* an English teacher when we were youngster & I can't think of little else that's more annoying for youngsters than that... In fact, it's warped me for life: typos & what-not just leap out at me when I'm driving, walking aro

I swear doing this mission properly is impossible. What I did (on DL 1.5, not sure if this will work on DA) was keep my first two planets and let my allies colonize the rest. Make one of your planets an eco planet and the other a production planet. Don't bother building any ships or starbases. As you said, they will just get shot down. Keep buying and trading techs with your allies. For some reason, the dread lords won't really bother invading you and when they do, it'

Immigration is already in the game I believe. The higher your approval rate is, the more your population increases. This is supposed to be from more people paying tax, as well as more people moving to your planets because the quality of life is supposed to be good.

I don't think they want solar systems. They want planets. So you'd just offer them planets in the trading window for their techs. If they do want solar systems, then you'd just have to offer them all the hospitable planets in a solar system.
Even if you don't get up to Sensors V, you can plop as many sensors from Sensors I as you can onto a hull ship and keep them stationed wherever you want. I usually call them something simple, like Eyes of Whatever Race.
I called mine 'Drengi Watchers'. Guess why!!!

At that level I'd just turn it off since you know the AI are going to be trading tech at low low prices with each other. But I think a lot of it depends on how powerful you are. They'll actually be nice to you when you're as strong or stronger than them. Otherwise they'll just bully you.

Interesting. :) It sucks that your trade routes are being eaten by pirates. You could design freighters with lots of engines on them to try and outrun them since you didn't mention how fast these pirates are. Also, have you tried building the privateers galactic achievement? Or did another race get it. It'd prevent them from killing more trade vessels I think. Either way, you will need to throw yourself into research to acquire ships that can fight these pirates. Hopef

I think you can change them, but it might make your race non-metaverse friendly. If you're running DL (dread lords) or DA (dark avatar), I can tell you where to look. I can't help if you're running TA (twilight of arnor), though I'm sure somebody will know. If you're running DL, find the 'RaceConfig.XML' file. If it's DA you're running, find the "CUSTOMRACENAMEHERE.XML" file (replace CUSTOMRACENAMEHERE with whatever your race is called) open them with notepad<

Bumps are helpful, lol. That makes sense to me. I thought it could be something to do with higher AI levels using up more memory and my PC crashing, but other games don't crash that use up a lot of juice. I might try uninstalling the latest windows update or rolling my system back to see if that helps. But I'll put up with the crashing for now until we can maybe get some specifics on what the problem is.

Hey everyone. The last 3-4 games, I've been having trouble with DA crashing on me. My screen will go black and I will get the 'Gal Civ II Dark Avatar needs to close blah blah blah' message. Recently I've been getting a lot of errors telling me that my virtual memory is low. I'm not sure if this is what causes the game to crash, but I figured I'd mention it since it may just be a case of needing more RAM. I can't tell much about my system since I'm a novice user, but I

I know how much you like custom ships, so here's another masterpiece!!! It's called the 'Drill Ship' I was thinking of calling it the vampire ship, but that sounded a little too sinister for the Arceans. :p<br

That is weird. The only normal thing I see there is several civs going to war with you because you attacked the Terrans.
