Hello there, I would like to play GalCiv I on a netbook but can't seem to make it work so far (Acer One with Windows 7 basic) and couldn't find any tips on the net nor in the forum. It's GalCiv Gold and i already made a shortcut to the Altarian Prophecy exe as the loaders seems to have problems. Any hints? Thanks
Strength & Honour 2 Looks very promising, but also quite similar to the Total War games, but then with lower graphics. How does it compare?
The overall concept is similar, you manage your cities and your armies, engage in diplomatic actions and so forth. The biggest difference is the extensive use of individuals at all levels. In an army with 10 divisions, you'll have 1 marshall and 9 generals...each in
Hi, I would advise one of the last three games by magitech: - Sango 2 (China during the 3 Kingdoms) - Takeda 3 (Japan in Sengoku period) - Strength & Honour 2 (Antic World from Spain to China). All these games have a turn based strategy map and real-time battles that you may let autoresolve. Graphics are basic but the gameplay and the AI are top. They are fairly unknown but really great. I'l
I know when MOO 2 was released because I played it in the delivery room on the laptop waiting for my first child to be born. hey...i heard that one before ;) My fav is MOO which is still play. MOO2 was fun (especially the space battles) but i haven't played for a while.
The game is not a threat to Sins but to my wallet! I am looking forward to this game a lot. I just hope they include some kind of diplomatic win which is what i prefer in MOO 1 & 2. Unfortunately there's no forum yet. Cheers PS: cheers Martok ;)
Where did you read that the MOO franchise has been bought? TBS i can recommend: Takeda 3 : Sengoku period like Shogun TW Sango 2 : China in the time of the 3 Kingdoms Both available from Gamersgate or Magitech Cheers
And, to finish all, the game itself isn't on the shelves yet, but you came here and shat on it BEFORE it's release. Are you privy to some access we aren't?
He just bought the wrong game and didn't notice...that's all
Master of Orion 3...if you're ready to try it (learning curve is very steep) you'll discover a universe...so many options and so much room for your imagination. It has to be patched though to be good (official patch + Bhruic's patches at least).CheersGah! Do not listen to this madman! MOO3 is the spawn of the very devil, I tell you! The devil!! (Sorry Anguille, you know I had to say it.) Yes I jest, but only in part. I largely agree with Artysim's assessment of the game -- Master of Orion
It seems you downloaded the original game (released in 2007)...not the current game which hasn't been released yet! A patch for the original game will be released after the new game is published...

Thanks, I will consider it...but i think i will rather go for the boxed gold edition and then for the dowloadable addon...
finished product? What your waiting for is three complete games for the price of 1.
No, it's not the reason. I just don't like to run after each expansion and patch...and as Stardock produces a lot of patches/improvements (which is good) i prefer to get the product when everything is there...that's all.
"* Do you still play Civilization IV? * What did you think of the "Warlords" expansion pack? * What do you think of the "Beyond the Sword" expansion pack?* Is a new version of Civilization about to be released that I should just wait for?" I just bought CIV IV complete...all the addons are there, so you should get that if you want the game. I still have to play it so i can't really tell. I still play CIV III conquest on a regular basis (still haven't finished all the conquests).
While i was one of the first to buy GalCiv, i still don't have GalCiv 2...while i think it's great that there has been so many updates during the last few years, i prefer to buy the finished products (just bought Civ4 complete)...so my question is: any chance that there will be a GalCiv "platine" which would include all the addons? Cheers
I prefer 1 but 2 is good too...there's just too much micromanagement in 2...(1 was at the limit).
I heartely recommend this game...great fun and good story!
Is the easy AI any better? Because in CK:RoW it's really terrible, and it's too easy. But Medium is a little too hard for me to take on (yeah I know). I wish there was a level between there, where they actually build units but not so fast. And, the medium guys take over everything on the map before I ever leave my stronghold. I can't say as i only play on hard...but as i said, as it's easier to manage your troops, you have more time to elaborate your st
I will definitely check it out, but I don't have as much time to play on these things. $10 or less is my game budget most of the time. And even then, it better be a great game. Trust me...it is a great game Already the new units you get with the new nations are worth it (elephants anyone?) <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.g
You do play the adventure from Larax, don't you? I am not a great RTS players myself but Celtic Kings is one that i master. You have many new maps in "Nemesis of the roman empire" (there's a large map with Spain, Carthago and Italy which is not in the campaign). What i like is that in the second game you can select your various leaders and they will appear on the left side of the screen so it's really easy to go from one leader to the other. If you like Rage of War, you should really get thi
I highly recommend that you buy Celtic Kings: Punic War (aka Nemesis of the roman empire) which is the first sequel. There are 2 campaigns...in the first you are Hannibal and in the second Scipius...
Slitherine has a pretty preposterously bad track record. Ever make the mistake of playing Chariots of War? Uh...what's bad with Chariots of War? i think it's a very decent wargame especially if you consider that Slitherine was a team of 3 at that time.
There's a brand new game: Commander: Europe at war by Slitherine WWW Link
It wasn't really meant in a negative way. After all, these new features are the reason why i am finally considering buying CIV IV. Still, we had 2 kings (CIV and GalCiv) for 2 specific genres in the TBS world (history / science-fiction), if we don't count AC which was land-based. And now, we've got the most powerful king who's trying with a new genre (space conquest). Will they stop there? What are the risks for GalCiv 3?
The new add-on for CIV IV does include a space map and conquest of stars...did they copy GalCIV 2? How will this affect GalCiv2 sales? What do you think?
I recommend Spartan by Slitherine...good TBS set in the Antics
