Research in Galactic Civilizations II Stardock Forums

I am relatively new to the game and have a planet where the research amount in both the colonies and planet screen is showing as 96, however in the actual reseach screen it is showing as (total) 57. Am I just being stupid (I have check other games and started a new one to confirm that they both normally tally) or is there a reason for this? I have both an economic and reseach capital on this planet and it seems that be benefit of the research capital is not being received when sh
