I very much enjoy like the fact that here we get straight, honest responses from the CEO. Seeing discourse on these issues, even if it's with the typical hyperbole of forums, makes me feel more connected with the products. It's refreshing not to receive misleading distilled information from fear motivated spin doctoring PR people, if we receive anything at all in other places. I think the addition of for-pay stuff is always a good idea in single-player, and under certain conditions, for multiplayer. To me, in competitive multiplayer, balance is of utmost importance. The best example of where the line is for me is the difference between Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. I bought BF1942 and both expansions, and enjoyed the game for years. I bought BF2 and only played until the first expansion. The difference is that for the 1942 expansions when
I like elements of both tech tree designs. I can't say for sure which is "longer". I'm not under any illusions that people like me comprise a large market, but personally I very much enjoy co-op multiplayer support and am not
The score difference I believe is because of the multiplier from the conquest victory type and the number of planets that will entail. Personally it's more important to me that the game is fun playing it than what score it gives me at the end. I think I'll play them all eventually. My first half-dozen games have been as a good Civ, and I play it as good (no unprovoked wars etc). It seems to have intuitive advantages to me, where it's easy to make alliances and people who like me typi
