I already stated on this topic why I don't care for speed. BUT if speed is something I need to counter on the match, and it really something I have to do to win the game I will keep the same setup and buy Wand of Speed. Usualy unacessary. Could you provide an opposing team which I will need speed to win the game?
This sentiment is correct in general, but I would contend that speed is also useful for tactical maneuvering during b

I think its becoming pretty apparent from all the threads in this section that Sedna/Beast is a dominant 2v2 combination. My teammate and I use it as well, and have been slaying all comers, including several supposedly tough premade teams. While there isn't all that much room for variation I do detect some differences (in my opinion "deficiencies"), but of course I am biased for my own team's version. Specifically, I question UB taking stats 1-5 over DC 1 and IB 1-3 + A
Early game Spit can be useful against certain builds as a harassment tool, however, as DGs acquire larger and larger HPS, Spit becomes less a harassment tool and more a combat nuke. It functions in that role just fine, trading instant gratification for larger overall damage as compared to other nukes. Combined with the defensive effects and additional DPS of Ooze, this makes UB an attrition nightmare. I'd have to say Spit's main weakness is that it can be stripped early by Heal 3, whi
I'm not taking credit for this argument, it was introduced during the DoW2 patch beta as a response to the 20% knockdown chance on shotguns.
Slight tangent here, but just pointing out: the argument was not "introduced" in DoW2. Someone took it and applied it to DoW2, buts its been used in much older games, the oldest of which I know of are Warcraft 3 and Guild Wars, but probably in ones even older than that, as well.
Heal has better efficiency than pounce, for sure. But it is also defensive in nature and comes with all the lacking benefits that an offensive one has. Such as the ability to turn a demigod and make them run. Sure, you can outlast them with heal but even if you do how are you going to turn that run into a kill with heal early game? You're not.
Would you care to explain this mysterious advantage that an offensive ability has in comparison to a def
Always take innergrace at 2. It's like having boots for free, and easily puts you on par or over any player that did not choose swift anklets as there favor item.
Like I said, just considering, because as is it takes until about level 17 to finish everything. Its tempting to try to speed that up, but I still think Grace is worth it.
Other D
I've been considering chucking Grace to level up her actives faster, but I hate being at 6.0 and that first level of Grace is so efficient.... bah, choices!
Sedna is not just a healer, but heal is nevertheless one of her best abilities that should always be taken. Pounce spamming is fun for slaying noobs, but good opponents ruin its day. "Tank Sedna," on the other hand, is a top tier force at all levels of play. Prioritize Heal and Wind 2, stack tons of HP and Armor, get High Priests. P.S. Lol for including a Yeti build.
Skills makes you fastest, I never said you need additional items. Sedna just IS the fastest Demigod in the game (+15% speed from skill). But i'm sure you know this already (and dunno why you are trying to hide this fact behind additional items). You don't need ANY additional item to be the fastest demigod.
Levels 2 and 3 of Grace are bad, you shouldn't get them. Level 1 gets you 6.3 which is even with UB and LE and slower than TB and R
Another rant about Erebus
He's tough to kill but thats it. Besides that he doesn't do anything spectacular. He's a decent DG but honestly no better than 4th best in 2v2 scenerios (Sedna, Beast, Oak), and drops down even further in 3v3 (TB, Reg become viable).
BTW2: SoFFacet - if you really want to leave Vampire as it is, additionally buff Sedna (+300 hp heal), i'm sure, you are playing Vampire or Sedna (at least
you can farm xp and gold on the other side of the map.
Only useful if for some reason you've got no other DG in that lane.
you can control the map, mainly 3v3 and 2v2 maps as they only have 2 portals that spawn creeps, you are taking 1 out of the equation.
You can kill some stupid creeps and then watch as the DG with an actual favor item pushes you out of your lane. Its terrible.
It's not that you could live indefinitely off monks per se, but rather it relates to a basic mathematical problem involving multiplication. If I take two numbers, which, when added must equal a total of 100, which two numbers should I pick, so that multiplying them gets the greatest return? The answer is 50 and 50. Similarly one must balance damage and healing. The best total damage before death requires an equal amount of
Well Sedna is a big "problem" IMO. People are saying Yeti's sux. The thing is, Sedna has SO MANY great skills, Yetis are just nothing comparing to them.
Sedna's current ownage build is "full," meaning there is no room to take Yetis without giving up something important. Therefore buffing Yetis would not represent a simple increase in Sedna effectiveness, rather it would hopefully make a second type of Sedna viable. But in all likelyho
Nesrie, I am one of the people you mentioned who "seem to think it's not okay for women to identify themselves as women while playing games or even on boards," however, you have misinterpreted my meaning. I am not a woman and therefore have no perception of how annoying or outraging it might be to be referred to by the incorrect pronoun, but I don't believe that the act of insisting on accuracy, in itself, is what is objectionable. What is objectionable is more of a broad attitude, something
You have 3 different ways to interrupt Charm, Bat, and Bite (Pounce, Silence, Penitence), 2 ways to remove snares (Heal 3, Shield 3), 2 ways to counteract snares (Grace, Surge), and 4 ways to not die (Heal, Shield, High Priests, Bishops). This doesn't sound like a difficult matchup.
So..after starting this messy thread...The smartest suggestions appear to be:
Ahem. Arranged and Random Team Automatch.
Oak is really balanced, I like where hes at right now. He's got a fine list of skills which all synergize with eachother, and I already have trouble figuring out what order to get things in. The only critical balance change we need is some nerf to Horn and either minion given xp or a minion leash radius, or some mechanic to make sure people can't repeatedly rush your citadel with minions until its dead.
I honestly can't imagine whats so good about Reckoning on Sedna. We're talking about an unreliable AoE that can't even fry most creeps or minions. For the price, Nimoth, Unbreakables, Vlemish, and High Priests are all way better, and if you already have those you can start getting more expensive stuff like Narmoths.

I, who sign my team up for anything remotely resembling good competition within the times we can make. I, who stake out the custom game lobby looking for premade games. Yeah ok. Bring it, bitch. You're bad, so we'll have to go easy on you for the first 3 minutes to make sure the game counts.
Why do you think that is?
I believe I answered this, in fact I did, in the very next sentence after you stopped quoting me: "because pubs are scared of you and pre's either don't trust you or would rather pubstomp for the reasons I mentioned before" The way to fix this is as RobWild said: implement the automatch system while simultaenously pulling the rug out from under custom games (make them no longer count towards rankings) so that if people/teams wan
The overriding fact here is that all of this could be prevented by a arranged team + random team automatch mechanisms. I would accept something designed explicitly to mirror the system Battle.net uses for TFT. In that case all the "premades" get to play with their friends, against other premades, so all is fair. All the pubs get to play with other pubs against other pubs, so all is fair. In the absence of such a system, players are left to govern themselves, and let me tell you
Individual players have every bit as much right to play in random teams as you do predetermined teams. Insulting them for simply wanting to know what they're up against is completely uncalled for.
I want to play a good game, but putting "premade" in the title leads to 20+ minute wait times, which is unacceptable.
