Okay, so when you build a carrier fleet, how many bomber and how many fighters do you build. 50/50? 70% bombers/ 30% fighters? Do you use different strategies with different races? What tech do you research to make fighters and bombers more effective? When building hangers, ratio do you use? 50/50? 70/30?

I do well at the early to middle rounds. It is late in the game when I lose it. I have trouble beating starbases and titan ship. In one game, I was playing against an AI. The AI developed mission tunnel vision. It poured wave after wave of ships into my system. I did the same. I had a fully upgraded Strbase and a huge Vasari Loyalist fleet. The AI was a Vasari Rebel. The AI bring in his Titan and that was it. I lost. Lost my fleet, starbase and system. So

So I got the game from Amazon. It is in DVD format. Whenever I start the game nothing happens. When I look at task manager, I see the executible running, but I don't see the game on the screen. How do I fix this?

Okay. I wanted to try TEC. So if you are a fan of the TEC maybe you all can help. I have a couple of questions. 1.) What ships and combo of ships do you focus on? What does you TEC fleet looks like? 2.) Economy. What do you research. In what order? What do you do to get that economy roaring. 3.) What do you do with diplomacy as TEC? If anything? 4.) I keep hearing that TEC is a fast sta

I have a question about Advent mines. When the AI plays the Advent, their planets are full of mines. How do they do this? The reason I ask is because when I play TEC it seems the only limitation is money. But it seems that Advent mines are limited in numbers. So how do the Advent pack their planets with mines?

What can I do about mines. The game does not provide minesweepers so, what then? I especially hate the Advent mines because those mines move. Regards

Okay so I have several questions around carriers. So is a carrier only strategy a bad idea? When I say carrier only, I really mean carrier intensive with support ships. Which faction has the best carriers? Which faction has the best fighters and bombers. What can you research to make fighters and bombers better?

I am using Windows XP with SP3. The old game ran just fine on this system. Note, I was it by a computer virus. Then I reformatted the hard disk to get rid of the virus. It was a difficult virus. So the old SINS game is not on the system. I have bought SINS Trinity. When I put the CD into the computer, the mouse pointer turns into a picture of a cd for a while. Then it stops and nothing happens. When I try to do a DIR in the command

I was wondering if I can somehow use military starbases close to planets and let them defend the planet. I figured that if the starbase is strong enough, they can stop the enemy dead in its tracks. Or at least cause the enemy to use up a lot of ships trying to take out my starbase.

I am playing Dread Lords. What I have done so far is to put a planetary defense on a planet. But the AI just sends in wave after wave of transports until they ware me down and take my world. What can I do to make a planet difficult to invade. I was hoping that I can put up defenses that can kill incoming transports and enemy ships. Can a military space station help? What else can help. I want to make a planet virtually impossible to invade

I find the Drengin Empire the hardest to play. When I do play them, I feel like I fall behind in tech and economy. Then the whole board seems to hate me. When I do go to war, the different faction gang up on me. If you like this faction, can you share ideas, tips, trick etc . . . that can make it easier to win with Drengin. Also, how do keep up with tech and economy as a Drengin?

I am playing Gav Civ Dread Lords II. I can play okay. But when it comes to a shooting war, my ships drop like flies. Case in point. I played a game where I researched all defensive tech. I ran out of stuff to research on the defense tech tree. I then created my ships with the latest defensive tech. When I went to war, I lost. What can I do to create ships that can beat the AI.

It seems that on the normal setting, war is inevitable? I have tried to develop a neutral alignment. I have tried to up my diplomacy. No matter what I do, the computer AI will attack. What can I do if anything to prevent war? I wanted to try two things. Remain neutral and up my tech for a technical victory. Or, stay at peace and win an influence game.

I have done this in other 4x games. I know that I can spy. What I wanted to do is do is support rebel movements, cause revolutions, undermine governments, commit acts of sabotage and frame other empires so that they go to war with each other. Is stuff like this possible? How? Here is why I ask. One of my most favorite games is when I played the Darlocks in MOO. I was in the corner of the galaxy. I then spied on everyone, and had frame

Thanks for the reply. I have problems with several areas. These are the most pressing. 1.) Economy. Sometimes I'll see the word "never." when I try to build stuff. How can I avoid this. 2.) I have trouble with combat. Sometimes I'll build ships that beats the pants of the enemy. Then a few turns later, my ships drop like flies. What can I do to build good ships. And win fights. 3.) I don't understand starbases. Why can't they prote
