Ok, found the problem! It seems XFire had updated silently in the background, and the latest updated screwed something up. I don't know what, but killing it removed the problem. Starting it again makes it come back, so they screwed up their latest update royally. Atleast insofar as XP 64-bit is concerned. Sorry for bothering you guys.

I already have that AMD driver. I don't remember when the video drivers are from, but things worked pretty well, and I didn't install anything or really do anything apart from the metaverse thing between it working fine and mouse getting choppy. Can try the video drivers, though.
I'm recently seeing some very odd mouse behaviour in TA. It's been working pretty fine since I bought it at release, but now it's not possible to play. The bug manifests as the graphics completely freezing when the cursor is moving. I get nice, stable FPS (atleast according to fraps) when it's still, but as soon as I move it, it gets very, very choppy and I have no idea where I'm actually moving the cursor. The choppiness seems to be almost complete graphics-freezes as long as the mouse
