I'm only a "fanboy" to my wallet. I have zero loyalty to Steam or Impulse. Whomever has the best value at the time I want to make a purchase gets my money. Steam gets my $$$ way more often than Impulse solely based on that value judgement. Impulse and Steam have little to no decernable differences in their ability to download software to my computer. Impulse better get cloud support soon however because that feature is amazing.

If the next gen consoles allow for complete digital distribution of standard games, brick and mortar hegemony is going to die . 6 month gap for shelf space seems extremely antiquated. I haven't purchased a game in person, in a store since WoW :BC. Apparently m any people are still doing so.

Steam has some amazing deals, it's true. I just picked up Empire:TW, Medieval II: TW + expansion, and Rome:TW + expansion all for $20. I've been using it since day one. Valve is a company that responses to consumer feedback. Offline mode has improved since launch. Steam, Impulse and services like them are the future of the industry. The amount of impulse buys (lol pun intended) is amazing.

Afraid Gamespot is right. Movies are reviewed based on what the customer can see now, not on the Director's Cut. Games are the same way. I'll decide if Demigod is worth my Best Buy Gift card after the demo. Haven't missed a Stardock retail level game yet. Lost the old GalCiv key when I changed emails, game thinks I'm a pirate but it still works. [e digicons];P[/e]

Random genetic mutations are a key mechanism in natural and sexual selection, the engines behind evolution. Sometimes I wish I could travel back to the Council of Nicaea and ask them to forget the whole Genesis thing while they were busy editing and debating the "word of God."
