I know that Twilight will be awesome. Stardock does the MOST beta testing in the software industry. I could go on and on about software development and testing, because I am a computer Science Major, but I won't. Stardock is awesome, and Galactic Civilizations 2 is Awesome. I hope their next project is a RPG about like Empire Earth or even The Elder Scrolls. But that's for another forum thread. Go Stardock, you stay awesome and don't let anyone buy you out and make you le

This quote was from another post:
I could be wrong, but I don't think the tech editor is going to support new game mechanics like sensor reduction, cloaking etc.
Please explain the tech tree editor and the other editors and their capabilities with a little more detail. (And if possible add some screen shots) What are the limitations? Will we be able to add new techs or just modify old techs? Will we be able to add new stuff or just modify old stuff? <br
If your ministry is geared toward youth, how will you ever minister to them if you do not understand things from their view?Jesus got down on our level, became one of the people, a simple carpenter, a commoner, and ministered to people from the inside out. He called for us to be like Him in that we do the same, or we try to do the same. Please, do not misunderstand my words, I am simply voicing my opinion. Yes, I am a Christian, and yes, I play video games. I love video games. I have a tal
Video games allow a person to feel as if they have accomplished something without doing anything. That's why a lot of gamer guys want to date a gamer girl - because she is more likely to give him the respect he doesn't deserve. So I waste time with them instead of hanging out with my family, doing work, or spending time with God or on ministry. You may say, "But I play video games and I do all those other things too." I say to you, are you doing those thing

...maybe a hospital ship...
Don't mind asking but, what is these things supposed to do?
Okay, maybe a medical starbase. Maybe the hospital ship/base would, near or orbiting your planet, would increase your advantage against invading soldiers. Maybe the hospital ship would, near your troop ship, in same fleet, would increase your advantage against defending soldiers. That gives me another idea: Maybe a repair ship t
Hey,
Map Editor. Now players can design their own maps. They can also be uploaded to GalCiv2.com and shared with others. Scenario Editor. As configurable as a GalCiv game is, the scenario editor lets people tweak their start up options to incredible levels. They can even save them and share them with others. Tech Tree Editor. Players can add their own technologies to the game and the computer players will even automatically us
It was looking sucky anyway, get some other good devs to make it.
Sell it to StarDock. They could probably make it 1000 times better. Especially with the ease of modding and the beta testing they do. While they are at it, Sell the game StarGate Worlds (??) to StarDock and sell them the rights to make Star Trek Armada III, or any Star Trek Game. I bet you StarDock could/would make each of these games and they would be awesome compared with the past games. <b
It is true that they ignore a lot of ideas. I've seen a lot of ideas that would have probably made Dark Avatar or Twilight of the Arnor better. A lot better.
I dunno, according to what I read about the Intent of Twilight, they intend to allow us to put our own ideas into the games. If this is true, and especially if they make modding easier, then we take our ideas and apply them ourselves, and if we choose, we can share with othe
The auto explore function, especially with multiple ships using it has always been less than stellar. They seem to get in a conga line and then go about the most inefficient way to explore the map, doubling back and forth.
Yes, Exactly, except it seems to work fine with one ship. Also, multiple auto-survey seems to work fine as well. It seems like a glitch. It seems to happen even if I build a ship, set to auto explore, start buil
Cool ideas, but Stardock isn't intent on making Galciv 3 yet. However, its probable that someone might make a GalCiv mod for Sins of a Solar Empire, which would rock!
Yeah, but this is what forums are for, just to blab. Sure, the game designers do search the forums, but I doubt they sit down and write every idea down and pour over them. I mean, they created this game, and although I am sure they do read and appreciate our ideas, t
That being said a bit more control in land and space combat would be nice. You know, something like attacking styles. You could tell your ships before they enter combat to either fight defensively or offensively. As a result they either don't take as much damage but deal less, or they take more and deal more. Something that gave more control but fit with the feel of the game. That and the ability to bomb planets from orbit would be nice. That
Edit to above Post: Go to the exact same location every single time. This may be mis-leading. When the ship is exploring, the ship will set a course, and each ship will go to the exact same destination. Then after exploring a few tiles away from the home planet, they set a course back to the home planet and then just continue to fly around and around never moving very far from the home planet. Each ship always goes the same route to the same spot.
b) Also, add a alignment specific tech tree to the game. A type of technology that you can only start if you are good, neutral, or evil. B) You may get your wish (indirectly) with the TA expansion... as the incredible variations in multiple race Dependant trees do create plenty of alignment choices with a huge number of assets and features.
That sounds really really cool,
Hey Guys, I have noticed, and was wondering if you have noticed a bug/glitch with the AI? Whenever I build a scout vessel, and set it to auto explore everything is fine. However, when I build more than 1 scout vessel, and set them all to auto explore, they all want to: 1. Go to the exact same location every single time. This has occurred while playing the included and custom civs. 2. Go no further than a few tiles away from the home planet, and continually circle the home p
I'm sure there are uses to these rocks and balls of gas in the game... but why can't we use them?
That would be brilliant. A orbital mining technology. You could build use a miner to build an orbiting mining base. It could even make a whole new tech tree. Level 1, an orbital base and someone has to fly a ship down into the gas giant and actively mine the gas/rock with machines. Level 2, an orbital base and someone flies the shi
I would love to have the option to capture a starbase or starship during battle or a war. Adding this option would add so much potential, from potential tech trees, (EMP Tech, Transporter techs, etc) to new modules (EMP modules, Marine Modules, Starbase Capture Modules, etc) to new and exciting strategies. For instance you could research Drone technology which would give you robotic drones. You could use these drones to capture a ship, remove the crew, and take the ship "home" to
Hey Guys, I love GalCiv2, but as I play, I can't help but notice that there are some things I keep wishing for. For one thing, I wish that choosing good had some definite benefits and not all detriments. I mean let's randomize things, and make it so that choosing one alignment is more balanced. I would love to see some or all of the following added to GalCiv2 in the future: a research-type starbase, medical-type starbase, entertainment/tourism/recreation-type starbase,
Good Lord I'm still playing GalCiv2!!! You sound like EA...release a huge-hit game (BF2), mismanage it and give horrendous bug and patch support, and then a year later try and release another game (BF2142) based on the same engine without letting the first one even run its course. GalCiv2 has so much time and life left in it, why bury it before it dies? Heck, it took me the better part of 10 years to stop playing MOO2 and GalCiv2 is at least as good as that game. I'm
Hey Guys, Newbie here (this site, not to computers and not to games), I love the idea of GalCiv3. I would love to see some new ideas. The ability to create custom ships, with a custom purpose. For example: create a ship designed for kamikaze missions, a ship designed to ram another ship, possibly forcing the other ship into 1 or more enemy ships. or a ship designed to explode and destroy or d
