Oh well - was hoping to use an overwhelming numbers tactic to bring down the big boys. This is actually the first game so far that's gone long enough to research into large hulls. I've been dragging my feet in this game just to see what the upper tech tree holds. I was getting a bit bored just researching and killing transports coming my way so I sent all my ships in just to get stuck on one stubborn DL ship that woudn't die. Maybe I'll just go toy with the other races until

I've recently gotten the game and have played through the DL campaign and am in the middle of the DA campaign. In the scenario - Return of the Dread Lords I need to capture a planet from the Dread Lords for victory. I'm finding it's effectively impossible to destroy a lone Dread Lord ship. I have a few full fleets (25 logistics) of tiny, small, medium ships and a few large ships touting Phasors & Psionic Beams (well over 100+ fleet attack). The weapons from my ships will never bring

Espionage is a bit odd in DA - many instances I wanted to spy on a neutral/friendly without doing harm or provoking them. (When a spy is detected is it ever known who is doing the spying?) While the rising cost is needed to prevent massive amounts of spies and micro-management late in the game while still allowing them early in the game, I think there's a better way to do it. Instead of spies costing more over time just give each spy a signifigant cost to keep up. Or a compound upkeep

I have the same problem issuing fleets a destination that is more than one move past the total moves remaining for the turn. A light turned on when you said th AI suffers from this as well. Have only started the campaign in DA and was really starting to wonder why I wasn't seeing many fleets moving about. When I did find enemy fleets they were clustered close to planets and didn't move until I moved my ships into range of the other ships. I'm on the Return of the Dread Lords

I have the same problem in DA but only with fleets. Individual ships will autopilot like normal but fleets will only autopilot if the destination is only one move more than the fleet's max moves. I get around this in an awkward way by disbanding fleets, shift-click dragging a selection box over the ship and then assigning a destination. Just remember to re-assemble the ships into a fleet once they reach teh destination. There's gotta be a better way though...
