Aww... Why not?

Yeah, A strong military will give the AI a reason to have better relations with you, because they don't want to have a war against someone who's stronger than them. The diplomacy ability helps too, but trade routes are the big one in improving relations, if the AI's income is a good 25% from you, they don't want to lose it.
This is my strategy: 1) At the very start of the game, set tax rat to 40%, this puts your economy in the green at the very start, while keeping your morale at a decent level, I also buy an entertainment network as an added precaution, it's cheap too. 2) Constantly check your production bar, if you're ahead of the game, set it to zero so you get a couple 100 credits per turn for a max of 10 turns, this especially works if you're Terran or another race with strong diplomacy, then
Well, you're right about trading them one by one, but in DA, you have to make the most of your diplomatic relations, because in DA, you can't talk to them at any old time. Only with the Super Diplomat ability can you talk to them every few weeks, otherwise it's longer to wait.
I like the comet idea. And the supernova looks cool, but pretty severe, I think the supernova should just affect the star system surrounding it, turning the surrounding planets into uninhabitable ones.
Yeah, the Altarians are going to have a simple tech tree that's really expensive but very effective.
I see the reason for a December release, with Christmas and all, but I think another month would give Stardock well-deserved time to fix bugs, make tweaks, etc. so as to make the game even better than normal, which is already very good.
This might not be relavant to the color problem, but you know the pallet of colors on the screen where you choose how your ships look? Well, I think if you had all the default colors of all the races on a separate pallet, then you could choose the default colors without having to go all the way to other files and reset the race configurations.
you know when you start a new game, on the screen that allows you to adjust planet abundance and what not, I think a great new feature would be to have a slider bar that adjusts the general planet quality of all planets.
While I see the reason behind this secutiry measure, I also know that Stardock has said that they weren't doing anything to prevent piracy.
