191.07 is not the newest Nvidia driver. You need to get 195.62 on the Nvidia web site.
I wouldn't recommend anything newer than 191.07 yet, lots of bugs, and if your motherboard has an nf200 bridge chip in, the newer drivers could cause over-voltage problems. I'm using 190.62 myself and it works very will with GalCiv.
In the latest version of Twilight of The Arnor 2.03, it does display research bonuses from rings, but not industry bonuses in the summary tab for me - it just doesn't show where it's coming from. If you go to the Details screen for the planet, however, it should be a little more clear.
The influence generated by each planet will always be different than what is displayed on your abilities page by design. You can check out the wiki on the subject here: https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Influence Basically, the number shown on you planet's screen for influence is affected by the amount of population on the planet, any structures on the planet that affect influence, and your racial modifier (the number shown on your abilities screen) Your racial modifie
I guess I was thinking of just adding a Space Balls race and tech tree to play as or against. I can just imagine the dialogue... [e digicons][/e] I have no clue what the ships should look like... other than a space Winebago and a Giant Maid with a Vacuum Cleaner.
Thanks foxthree. I didn't expect anyone to create a new mod just for me, I figured someone would have done a SpaceBalls mod already.
Anyone know of a good Space Balls themed mod? Search doesn't seem to be my friend.
Hrm, I'm suprised at some of the replies to this. C2L, I know exactly what you are talking about. I've seen this bug in every version of GalCiv2 I've played on multiple computers and it acts just as you describe. It is not inteneded behavior. It's a bug that under circumstances described above, grants the player full vision of a region of space he/she should not be able to see that will persist until a new game is started. There were one or two updates a wh
Not sure, but I think if you go to your civilization manager screen and go to the victory conditions tab, it will show the objectives.

It must have changed something. I'd like to know what.
Correct. Perhaps I wasn't specific enough. It was a minor update to fix the GalCiv installer for better Windows 7 compatibility. So, it won't do anything to change your game, ot
After 2.03 there was another quick update to bring the installer more up to date. Didn't change anything else with the game.
I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet: Just before you click the turn button, zoom your camera into a region of empty space. This will speed things up tremendously. The basic reasoning is that even with the game options you've selected, it still has to draw the ships moving. But if you're only looking at a tiny piece of empty space on the map, the game knows it's unnecessary to draw the ships moving and can move them more "instantaneously". In any cas
I'm assuming the "Misc other updates and fixes" are the items listed by Frogboy in the first post. I'm surprised this didn't make the headlines on the front page, or the impulse page, or twitter.
Downloading the newest patch right now. I wonder what's in the changelog... Finished. It upgraded the game version to 2.03(duh). But seriously, where's the changelog?
Via Impulse... Version 2.03 ---------------- + Minor adjustments to tech tree costs + Arceans more aggressive at colonizing + Terrans build up military sooner + Fleet window crash bug fix
It's because there aren't enough 'slots' for 2 new races. Even one race would remove the slot for the custom race.
This turn button thing could be the result of the game waiting for you to tell your ships where to go. Depending on what you set for autopilot in the game's options, when an autopilot ship is sitting out in space with moves left, or if one is on guard or sentry duty and 'sees' another ship, it will wait for a response from you. The turn button not showing up is a way of notifying you of this. So next time this happens: Press the 'Tab' key to cycle through the ships
Hrm, it sounds to me like the game may not have installed properly. I'd recommend re-installing the whole game. Also, check under your My Documents folder for a folder called My Games. In there should be a folder for each version of GalCiv. Look in the GalCiv folders for a file called Prefs.ini (it's a text file that holds the settings for the game, you can open it up and look at it and change some things from there) There should be a bunch of other files and
I had similar issues with a different game, I know how annoying it can be. Unfortunately the cause/cure was specific to that game so it won't be any help here. I know they added some new camera options in Twilight of the Arnor. The reason I mention this is I think I remember seeing some options related to the new camera behavior in the game's options; look through there and see if changing those settings helps. It would also be a good idea to send this to <a href="
You might want to send an email to since these forums don't get too much traffic lately. By sending them an email you'll probably get a more timely response. In that email, include a link to your forum post.
OK, now you got my attention. Very impressive!
Also in GC2, you only pay for HALF the production increased via bonus.
I know what you're talking about, and it's happened to me as well, although I haven't seen it happen in the latest versions of Dark Avatar or ToA (yet) It's different from what you're talking about mumble, as it's never correlated to a specific ammount of X resource or time in game. Sometimes it happens very early, sometimes very late, and it doesn't happen every game. The only constant is that it occurs after loading a saved game. It's the graph displayed along th
Testing complete, and it works. When in control over the effected AI, you can colonize any planet (even class 0), and your own planet5s will slowly rise in quality.
So that is what the "Godlike" event does! Very interesting. I always thought it was bugged and was supposed to continually increase base stats over time.
I'm pretty sure this can NOT happen to the player, and that that event is designed as one of the Game-Destabilizing events. I.e. like the "Mega-Events" introduced in Dark Avatar, to help prevent the game from becoming dull. But I would love to see such things be moddable, the possibilities are quite large, I can only imagine some of the great Random Event Mods players would come up with! Perhaps if we jumped into the Elementals forums and started asking for Random Events
