Hm... Actually, I'd definately call that a bug. There's no reason the game can't calculate that ahead of time. It already does for adding new things to the build queue. And the entire point of a beta is to adjust things like the games learning curve. Stating that something like this is part of the game and shouldn't be changed is, well, ignorant.

Yeah, I'd like to take a moment to agree with basically everything said here. Much as it would be a lot of work, that level of a functional interface (kind of like the Civiopedia in the Civ games) would be incredibly helpful.

Ick, Courage... From what I understand, if an invasion goes on long enough that the two armies actually meet each other in the middle, Courage virtually guarantees you a victory. That's what I heard, anyway. The problem is that most invasions aren't enough of a fair fight for that to happen; usually one side has a big enough advantage to end the battle before that. Also, I could be wrong because I don't remember exactly where I heard that.

That's kinda another point, actually - what's the point of Temples of Memories (which are one per planet) when the basic Torian morale-boosting building is far superior and not one per planet? Definitely agree about the Drengin super ability being weak... And the Iconian, for that matter.

1) Agree to a point; The Kourath are supposed to be similar to the Drengin, as they are all but the same race. They don't feel like they are too similar, except that the Drengin feel in part like a watered down version of the Kourath. 2) Very much agree, especially when you compare it to the Iconian's morale building. 3) Yeah... the Iconians feel overpowered early game to me. Sure, they have the highest maintenance costs of any race by far, but if you get a world with two +1

The point is not that a carrier has minimal defenses, or that it is useless without escort. The point is that a fighter with a good engine and a fricking Laser 1 can destroy a battle station you spent two years developing and another half a year implementing. I agree that Terror Stars should be useless without escort. However, they shouldn't be useless on defense against start of game ships. Seriously... Why would the most advanced battle station in existence lose a fight ag

Oh, wow, I completely missed that announcement, I guess. I was only aware of the tech, improvement, and ship editors. Yay map editor! ^_^
And besides, the editor hasn't even been released
Hmm... So is that an unofficial announcement of a map editor, then? :p

I will also agree about the selection and racial IDing. Also, why does right clicking the tech in the sorted window not bring up the same popup? Lastly, techs still need to display time until researched in the tech tree view. Implement that and I will never use anything but full view ever again. :) That said, I am LOVING the new tech data window. It is hundreds of times more useful than the old popup was.

Speaking of Terror Stars... can they PLEASE be equippable with Battle Stations modules? I recognize that they are hugely powerful, but... I really hate to see something I spent two years building get torn apart by a tiny fighter with 1 attack power that jumped my vision range.... >. Also, does stating construction on a Terror Star result in other races hating you very rapidly? I had a a tiny military and started building a Terror Star. Normally races with big militaries would try t

About the Yor: Consider that you are barring them from an entire victory condition. That is a HUGE limitation on their options, as well as on the number of playing styles they have access to. It would be like having a race that doesn't get the Alliances tech and can therefore never win a diplomatic victory. About Super Spy: My thought is that Super Spy should start you at a baseline of Low espionage level with every race you encounter instead of its current effects. Just the number

Super Trader does indeed give the civ every tech that gives any +trade bonus, except alignment specific ones. This is actually VERY annoying, as it means you can't add any +trade techs without Super Trader becoming overpowered. It would be nice if it looked for the +trade route techs instead of the +trade techs, as that would allow the adding of trade enhancing techs more freely.

He means click on your own planet and on the "Spy" button to look at your planet's tiles and production values, not actually place a spy on your own planet.

The Yor definately need a little more influence push, they are pretty crippled as it is now. As far as the Super abilities go, this is a tangent, but am I the only one who thinks Super Spy is virtually worthless? Sure, you get a free Spy, but by the time you find another race's planet, they can have a spy themselves to counter your free Spy. You can make the argument that it puts you "one up" on any race you want to have an espionage war with, but the facts are that spying is all in t

Temple of Memories definately needs some kind of boost, as it is currently just a vastly weaker Healing Pool. I like the suggestion that each temple provide a civ-wide boost to Morale of a few percent, but making them 25% or so would work, too - at least then they don't become obsolete when Healing Pools are researched, which is especially annoying because Temples don't auto-upgrade to Healing Pools.

Very much agree. Alliances should always be tradable, even with tech trading off. I've run into the very same problem.

Personally, I think the way Fleet Bubbles should work is instead of being sequential, they should be linked to progressively deeper parts of the engine tree. In other words, for example, New Propulsion Techniques leads to Fleet Bubbles I, Warp Drive I leads to Fleet Bubbles II, and HyperWarp I leads to Fleet Bubbles III. This would spread them out over the tech tree and force you to develop higher quality engines before you get the next bubble. Otherwise, Warp Bubbles are good

Bah, that's too much like cheating. I'd prefer moddable tiles. Mainly because one of the things I wanted to add is tiles that give ~penalties~ to certain buildings. Just to throw in an element of keeping people on their toes. Also, this reminds me of another thing I've wanted to see: Capacity for ships with Survey modules to do a "geosurvey" of an uninhabited planet. Basically like spying on an inhabited planet: it would show you where all the tiles are, and what bonuses are on each

Yes! Please! Also, clicking on the "planet finished building" green button should also center on the planet in question. I often need to know where my planet is in relation to everything else to decide what to do with it net, and it can be pretty hard to locate a specific planet at times in a big enough map. If would be really convienient if the map centered on the planet.

So, I know it's going to be a long time before custom races come back, but I've been thinking: What with the tech editor, improvement editor, and race-specific tech trees, custom races now have the capacity to be VERY unique. However, they will also have a fair bit of "baggage", from their tech tree file to any unique improvements they need, etc. What I'm wondering is, will there be an easy way to "package" custom races to send them to other people? Personally, I think it wou

I'm not going to bother completely restating what I already said in the Suggestions thread, but basically just because the Yor are machines doesn't mean they have no morale. They say at several times that they are sentient (and therefore free willed), which implies that there will be some number who disagree with the rest. While low morale for them doesn't necessarily represent unhappy people, like it does for the other races, it still represents discontent with their society. Taxes f

One thing you guys are slightly missing is that the Yor, while they are machines, are ~sentient~ machines. And sentience, depending on your philosophical views, implies free will. Free will implies dissention. Therefore, the Yor have Morale just like everyone else, they just have different ways of handling it. Same with taxes. Now the Thalan... The Thalan are a good contender for not having morale. Having a hive mind does tend to do odd things to concepts like morale and taxes...
