great ship fvc, especially like the underslung of the ship. I normally never pay attention to it when designing. Guess I should.
icete012, in case you miss it, I answered your question about importing ships from Dread Lords to Dark Avatar...the quick answer is yes see my response to your post for the details...
Hi, I just started playing galcivII and its expansion. Luv this game but have some queries on ship design - If I design a ship in Dread Lords, can it be used in Dark Avatar? If so, how do I do that? Any info is appreciated. Thank you
Sorry for the double post, the coding you need to change got blocked... Yes. I have done this once with a 75 (went and counted: my previous estimate seemed a little high) piece jewelry only design. I designed a survey ves

If so, how do I do that? Any info is appreciated. Thank you
Yes. I have done this once with a jewelry only design of about 100-200 parts. I designed a survey vessel in DL that I really wanted to bring over to DA. All of the jewelry parts that exist in DL exist in DA (with better
To clarify, I'm playing Galciv2: Dread Lords with no mods or anything. So they do design their ships in-game and not in a seperate program located in the installation folder?- So what about those "Starship Intelligence Report" screens; from the expansions? And I can't find the function regarding Template saving a design....And thank you
GJO, All the ships are created in game in the shipyard. I personally prefer creating ships to actually playing the game, so I generally ju
great design constantine. I am always in awe of those who managed to design mecha. I never managed to get the body rite
Thanks...I won't lie, there were a lot of failed attempts along the way... :NOTSURE:
Nice stuff all...finished this up tonite. Bezerker Armor: Tiny Hull, DA (metaverse-safe) Thanks.
The relative success of the [link="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y300/scarydromedary/dolphinscout.jpg"]Dolphin Scout[/link], led the Terran government and Krupp Heavy Industries to explore the possibility of a military version based on the same hull. The result was the Orca Class Heavy Fighter. Orca upgrade kits were initially offered for field modification of existing Dolphin Scouts but since 2227 all of Krupp's new production has been various models of Orca. The following photos of the O
My first ship of 2008. You know we really should try to get more ship design going. Maybe like an informal "Ship of the Week" Contest Thread. For instance, designate a class or role for that week and see what folks come up with. While I'm partial to vessels produced w/o mods, I wouldn't want to hamper anyone's creativity. Any takers? Anyway, my latest, building a new scout to replace the generic Terran Alliance one. Comments & Crits welcome. ~fvc

I'm no expert and only played a couple of games all on gigantic. I found that in general a good # of worlds to colonize was between 8-12 provided they were of relatively good class. Any higher than that and the colonies seemed like more of a liability. Of course I guess that depends on star density and the likelihood of habitable systems. I also try to make sure that I gear my spending to leave me with +10 bc for every new world, since that's about what the new colony is going to cost you.<
After all the work, I was a little disappointed that you can't make a freighter that registers as over 933 meters...anyway I included the comparison shot, the trade module is the same size on both vessels. It would be nice if the game actually "measured" the vessels instead of just assigning them a generic length and span based on class/type. Re: Drengin, once I get a good group of vessels complete
