Yeah, I'd like to see that too. Especially the nano rippers blowing off pieces of the enemies hull or being deflected by the armor. It might be too expensive to implement with hull sections flying off and movement AI. I made some suggestions that go halfway but should be pretty cheap to implement. You can find them by searching for "battle graphics".

Why is there no interest in this topic? If we spend all this time in designing cool looking ships then we should have a chance to see a meaningful graphical display of them in action. Or is this already implemented in a new version? Or triggered by some setting? I have not been able to validate with Stardock, so no recent updates. I am using Dark Avatar out of the box.

I would like to see the ship battle graphics effects show the results of the weapons fire, reflecting damage done and damage defended. It could be something simple like damage done causing a little red explosion for each damage point and bigger explosions for 10 points. Damage defended by shields could have a curved shield flicker in blue for each damage point and flash brighter for 10 points. Heavy damage done could also have a crunching sound. The current battl
