Imagine being born 500 years ago.. what a nightmare

This stuff makes me happy.. happy in all the right places
How about a Communist Government line of techs? History has shown that Communism does not work with human beings, but that doesn't mean in a sci-fi game it can't work with some aliens. ----- Ah Orca beat me to it
Well designed missions and a good storyline with well thought out characters does not make a good campaign??? Disliking the way the events of a story turn out does not make the story bad, it just means you dislike the way things turned out. Unless by your reasoning, the only factor determining whether a campaign is good or bad is if the player likes the way the story turns out regardless of mission design, universe-realism (consistency with the rules set by that universe), character developmen
Not all stories have a happy ending, this does not make them bad stories.
They make games with "good enough" graphics so that the game will run smoothly on the widest possible range of systems. Their art direction is very stylized. The put more emphasis on creating a balanced and "GOOD" game rather then a "pretty game"
The Yor, my favorite race... Temptation incarnate "buy me" it says "we can have so much fun together"
Starcraft has a lot more then two strategies. Watch some pro-korean games on youtube. This is just for easy finding, even between "average" players online there are many different strategies. When I say "average" I am referring to those that do not play on "$$maps" and mass battlecruisers. Turtling is something that really only Terrans do on a regular basis. Rushes are quite easy to counter if the player has enough skill to scout early with a worker. Three distinct factions is better th
I have never played a game I considered "bad" created by Blizzard. In fact I think every single game they have put out has been damn good. That said where do you get off on calling them "snide"?? They don't want to give out details on things and give people certain expectations when things can very easily be cut. Would you rather they pull a "Fable" and hype their crap through the roof? I first got Starcraft in 1998, when I was 8 years old. I've stopped playing a few times for a year in
I agree with megajames75. That is, imagine playing on an "Immense" size galaxy with this. It is just too much "over-complicated", well for me at least.
Second try at making a large sized ship. Still not happy Destroyer It destroys stuff. [img]http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee5/das1988/Destroyer.jpg?t=1194756727[/img]
Cultural-type improvement?
2nd attempt at making a Medium Sized Ship. I think it turned out a little better. B-Frigate A lack of extensive life support and sensor systems leaves more room for weapons and armor. [img]http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee5/das1988/BFrigate.jpg?t=1194564363[/img]
Like an inverse of the Yor racial ability?
My wannabe Frigate. Not too many pieces, quite simple. I've gotta make another Frigate too so I've got one for defense and offense. Frigate The first medium sized combat vessel. This frigate is non specialized so as to serve in a variety of different roles. [img]http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee5/das1988/AFrigate.jpg?t=1194339399[/img]
I quite like that design actually. Specifically I like the top deck perched on top of the fin above the wings. The small details are also quite neat, such as the small radar dishes mounted out front. In my mind it also fits the Terran "Style". When I think Terran I think blocky and squarish, although this design has the two large circular plates it still fits this "style" in my opinion.
My religious and political views are right. Why are the right? Because I BELIEVE them, and since I believe them and I'm right about everything because I'm me, it means if you disagree with me your wrong. If you disagree with me and I try to enlighten you and you still disagree with me it means you are an idiot. You are an idiot because I'm right and I know I'm right and my views and beliefs are right because I KNOW they are, and thus any intelligent person would naturally come to the same con
Probe This sensor ship was designed for scouting and and border surveillance. [img]http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee5/das1988/Probe.jpg?t=1194132884[/img]
I'm still a total newbie at this game. I think I'm just starting to get the hang of the ship designer. These three ships are from my current game, my third game as the Yor and my 10th game of GalCiv2. 2 Corvettes and 1 fighter, I'm trying to keep all the ships looking somewhat similar so they look like they belong in the same fleet that said the 2nd Corvette is just a modified version of the first. Any helpful advice or criticism is very much appreciated! ^_^ Basic Figh
Do you have predator ship models?
Don't let society say you're "too old" for Legos! They are just trying to murder your inner child.
When you design ships, do you focus appearance on form or function?? That is for example, though a colony ship might look better with fins jutting from its bottom, functionally it might be better to put some doofy looking leg-gear on it. I'm very new at this and am having trouble with "themes" specifically with how Cargo-Vessel's should look. Love this thread.
Thanks for the infos! Also, is it possible that some of the hardpoints on the Standard Hulls are not symmetrical? That is on one of the standard Medium Hulls (The one that is "fat" on the head+body) A set of mirroring hard-points on each side of the hull are not symmetric. That is, for example I give it Wings using those hard points, one of the wings is Crooked!!, its not at the same angle as the one on the other side even though its using the mirroring hard point.
These are all very very good. I'm not too hot with the ship designer myself. This said, I did a search for "Ship Design Guide" and got no results. I was wondering if there is a ship design guide of any sort that focuses on Jewelry?? I'm looking for some sort of compilation of tips when it comes to creating beautiful/creative looking ships. Thanks much.
I can't decide between: [Hull][Role][Role Modification]-[Design #][Series Letter] Nickname -or- [Hull][Role][Role Modification]-[Design #]-[Mark #] Nickname They are basically the same system the only difference being the Mark # vs Series Letter. These two are also identical in meaning, I just don't know whether its easier or more logical to use either a -# or Letter to signify what revision of the design it is. Example: TC-0A Gnat = TC-0-1 Gna
