Q: Does Fallen Enchantress have copy protection? A: No. We do have a serial number system so that if you buy the game from a third-party store (Steam, GameStop, GamersGate, etc.) you are able to re-download it directly from us into the future. But you may put Fallen Enchantress on as many machines as you would like that you own. This is false it says to go to steam to download. Most of the other games I can download from you but this isn&#

All gamestop/impulse are steam only games that I have seen so far. I wonder if they haven't changed my non steam games over to requiring steam now as well. All paradox games on gamestop requires steam drm but if you buy it at a store or off gamersgate there is no drm on them or at least most of them. Stardock sold out the players when they soldout to Steam/Gamestop which is now Impulse. Also Stardock sold out its gamers bill of rights when they now require ste
Steam Required is a no sell here. I don't like renting games.
It would be very nice to see Stardock go in with GOG.com and start putting there games on that site. It is and is doing very well and they are DRM free and would go along with many of Brads beliefs.
No way why did you sell out to Gamestop there goes our gaming and rights out the door. Thanks for nothing Stardock....................... I bet things change big-time and for no good now that Stardock sold us down the creek to the highest bidder.... Also I hate Steam and I bet they bring all that crap from steam over just a huge thanks for nothing Brad Wardell...
Ok Here is Vanilla converted to txt Entrenchment v1.041 Gameinfo folder. You can use this to mod with. http://www.filefront.com/15342713/GameInfov1.041.zip/
I dont buy MP only games so if Demigod is just MP then I wont be buying it. Also is it as good and have a lot of stuff in SP as it does in MP if it has SP?
Quoting FlyByU, reply 6When I first started playing PC games you did not have any of this crap. Bull. The heyday of the PC had copy protection - code wheels, random word checks out of the manual, etc..
LOL thats funny DatonKallandor because if they had all that on a floppy and the HD's back then were very small a few games would have filled up the HD with just the copy protection you say it
Brad I have a question for you and Stardock. Since you know where the pirated games are being d/l why are you not reporting it to the FBI and raising hell with the Attorney Generals office and getting these people into court along with everyone that has d/l a copy they will have IP address to trace among other things that can be used to bring these people to justice. However the main thing is the sites that have these games up for d/l go after them put them in pris
xXAequitasXx first off I said I was a member of both RYG & Stardock so don’t go saying your people our people because you both are my people and both are not respecting each other. I am Anti DRM in any forum and I would like to see it gone from games. When I first started playing PC games you did not have any of this crap. Good old install and play without the 5" floppy most likely before your time I bet. I am a old gamer and I don’t believe piracy is as bad as these gami
I am a member of RYG and I am also an Impulse user and Stardock games owner. I am also surprised at the response by some of the members of this forum and the cussing in it that is allowed. I feel that if I need to have internet to play a SP game I wont buy it. I dont even like having a disc in the drive to play a game. Stardock does not require you to register your game to play unless it has changed since Sins. You do have to register to D/L updates which I dont ha
Failed to validate your mhistgld registration information. Please verify that you have entered your email address and serial number correctly. This pops up when I start StarDock Central and go to my games. I checked everything and its all correct however, when I look for Making history it is not in the list but all the other games from Impulse are. So what do I need to do to fix this.
Disciples 3 using StarForce Oh god not another one. Well time to hit Strategy First Forums now. When with the stupidity end :(
If you all remember Freelancer from Mircoshaft and Digital Anvil that was IMO a great game don’t know where to categorize it but if Stardock could make a game similar to that with the nice UI and mouse controls to the exact way or close to the way Freelancer handles but with more in it. Like a Space Sim RPG combo where you are always leveling up and looking for that better gun, ship, or equipment. Also have co-op MP as well as allowing the players to make there own servers. Anyway I
I also thought he'd said they were lucky, but I think it's because the way he worded it (fantastic timing), there's no doubt that's exactly what he meant. Unfortunately people like him are slippery and you can't paraphrase them (or misremember their wording) or they'll jump all over it like he did.
He did post it and it was this
Stardock loses sales too. They just got lucky to come out with their game with no protection after starforce was basically pushed
That was edited or removed as it had read they were lucky not fantastic timing it was changed and no edit sig so that has to be a forum admin.
Well now they say StarDock is just lucky and that is why they are selling their games. That makes a lot of sense can you give a link to that? cant seem to find it on the bioware forum, if that was the place they said it btw, take a look at the bioware FAQ post count, it got a total of 532, thats 500 more posts then yesterday
It was MadBoris who posted it but he must have removed it out as you can tell it no longer is there. I responded to it and he removed it. This
Well now they say StarDock is just lucky and that is why they are selling their games. That makes a lot of sense We must be the luckiest company in the world then, because we've been doing things this way for a very long time.
True True I can’t believe the junk they are trying to say over there to defend that CP they have on their game. I set them as straight as I could on this lucky matter. As lucky does not sell games. A good game with a customer’s first attitu
Well now they say StarDock is just lucky and that is why they are selling their games. That makes a lot of sense :d
Here is a link to an interview with a company with the same view as Star Dock and they are doing very well without CP. [link="http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2008/04/16/cd_projekt_interview/"]CD Projekt interview[/link]
Save your money, save your headaches, and make a statement to companies that use this crap by buying Star Dock products. Show who you support, and make sure it is not the companies that want to limit you, and spy on you. Then post why you did not buy that game on a place like amazon.com, and other places.
Oh just got this from the Bioware forum
You have a max of 3 activations
-Derek French Technical Producer BioWare Here is a link to the new thread that has not been locked I know of 3 so far. If this link is not allowed on the forum Admins just delete it and let me know not to do that anymore. Also for those who dont remember Space Rangers 2 had StarForce on it the game was great but the CP made it unplayable. I own it and it is in great condition as I was unable to play long without major problems while gameing and it took 9 hours just to get it to work with my PC. Oh and Starforce leaves unwanted gifts that run long after you uninstall the game and Starforce. Well it said it uninstalled but it never did. I had to hunt the files down maunely to get rid of it as it was causing problem
If it fails to connect, it will try again on day 6. Then on day seven and so on up to day 10. If it cannot authenticate at day 10, the game will not run until you connect to the internet and allow it to authenticate.quote] So if the server fails or goes off line you will not be able to play your game. Again back to Why would you buy a game with this garbage on it. Summed up nicely I might add good job Coelocanth.
Simple don’t buy those games and also go to the company forums and say you’re not buying them because of this stupid copy protection. Then point them to Star Dock and tell them that Star Dock is trying to make consumers happy not drive them away with crap copy protection which will be broke in about an hour after release by the hackers anyway. I did not buy Bioware because of the crap they put in there new games I stopped buying anything valve because of the crap they did to there games via copy
