Damage Degradation: a medium hull ship starting a battle with 20 hp but ending the battle with 4 hp has the same amount of guns and speed as at the start of the battle. The ship should be limping away from battle, possibly with an escort as they can't effectively protect themselves anymore due to battle damage taking out some of its weapons Random Unknown Opponent Personalities:
Truly Random Opponents - I would like to play a blind random game. Blind navigation is one thing, but the Drengin are the Drengin whenever I encounter them. Let me encounter races that I have never heard of and need to interact with in order to find out whether I should be allying with them or destroying them.
This definitely happens in the real world. In WWII, the U.S. had a Lend Lease going with the U.K. and Russia. We were basically giving them equipment with the understanding they would pay us after the war. Hitler was fully aware it was going on and was PO'd but didn't want to go to war with the U.S. directly. Pearl Harbor and his alliance with Japan changed all that. Recreating this type of situation in GalCiv would be nice. It gets difficult to judge as all that can be known at this time is
I was going to go with the pod people from Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, but I have to go with tomatoes from Attack of the Killer Tomatoes due to the current tomato crisis. ;)

Maybe run the battle for a certain amount of time and then stop for the week and put the planet in a state of contested ownership. Depending on how many home team forces have been lost would be how much production is lost the next week. If possible, more forces could be added to the battle in future weeks via arrivi
It would also be nice to find out what the issue is and then be able to campaign with the other races to coerce them to vote with you.
