Had to do something almost the same once as Terrans vs The Krynn. At least for a while - those unattacked enemy fleets tended to wreak havoc on my infrastructure, starbases and ship building planets - until my tech was good enough to drive them back. Depending on the level played i guess, those enemy fleets usually zero'd right in on any transports

I suspected as much - the 1st war i had in this game was with the Torians and they were cool for Peace when my Mil Value was equal to theirs...

Just fought a major war as Terrans against the Krynn. Crippling level, gigantic, tons of minors, anomalies etc. It took forever. As the Krynn sailed about destoying starbases (which were always restarted a turn or two later) I knocked out their central worlds, captured their home world and they LOL'd my Peace Offers. I offered dang near everything to them - tech, cash, planets, influ - no dice. My war machine slowly at first - then faster and faster - annihilated them. There is

99% of the time - i don't start wars. Just lucky perhaps, yet the AI enjoys declaring them on me. When my war machine gets fully crunk and enemy planets are captured (sometimes as many as 3 in a given turn) I often try for a Peace Deal when I've pushed out far enough to start reorganizing the empire. Funnily enough, opponents flat refuse to discuss Peace and seem totally bent on maintaining a war they are not winning. Reckon this is because my Mil rating is not as high as theirs?

I've tried several times in one of the very 1st versions of DA and all ways got the "don't waste" espionage effortry on minor cats blurb. Ultimate Edition let me do it this time in ToA

@zarnick. Never seen a minor craft an empire before in DA, so when i saw the Dark Yor did it in ToA - i just tried to plant a spy on their homeworld and it worked. Same thing with one of their other planets. As you noted, never could plant spies before on a minor, i reckon the game got all confused when Dark Yor started expanding

K, been playing DA almost since Day One. Dl'd the Steam Ultimate Version a few weeks back and check it - the Dark Yor have created a mini empire! They own 3 planets Even more, I've planted spies on their homeworld and one of their auxcillary planets as well... Have some screen shots (not sure how to upload them)

My tactical and strategic goals are determined by whatever resources i can get my claws into prett early in the game. I always play gigantic, very fast tech with all the anomolies, minor and major powers allowed. My Terrans love money and ramp up trade routes to the furtherest phattest foreign planets of what my potential alignment may be. Usually snagging a financial resource, my economy never implodes and i stack up the cash as i race n trade for fighting ship tech (and additional r

Well, maybe not. Tho, I've had great luck with these cats at higher levels. Economics - +30, Speed - +10, Military Production - +10, Research - +20, Diplomacy - +30, Trades - +1, Logistics - +6. What do your Terrans have?

Hmmmm - interesting. As a besotted Terran Worshipper at Painful level - I've always had to protect the peace by prepping for war. Usually building a Fleet Reserve with fighting ships and transports en masse, especially if fighting another opponent. Currently, I'm winning against the Krynn - even devoted me entire empire to the war effort and sure enough - those bloody Drengin"s just declared war and sortee'd their entire fleet against my semi protected sweet tender portions o

Thanks Highwater. Being raised up by besotted Trekkers, i dig Terran action and try to be all enlightened and good, yet i need ev advantage i can score. So i play fast and loose during the exploration/exploitation phase and then straighten up. Tho, I've been thinking a lot about Starship Troopers Federal style

Hey Y"all - does anydobby else like rack up production, cash, unilaterally end bug wars and take starship bonuses from exploiting planets in an wicked way and then when you score the choice for ethical alignment - go good?

Whale, just had a funny Dread Lord event happen to moi as the Terrans. Holding me own (barely) against the Krynn, Drengin and Korx when the “Woe to all” blurb pops up and sure enough – the Dread Lords magically appeared a parsec away from Earth. My very 1st Normandy class troop ship (toting 2000 combat cats) was just constructed the same turn and easily reached the Dread Lords to invade. The 20 Dread Lord troops defending put up one heck of a fight – shooting all that

@Echelion - I have a Federation too with Constitution, Ambassador, Galaxy, Sovereign classes amongst others like Royal Navy's Admiral Class - Hood, Rodney and Invincible class - Inflexible, Indomitable, Indefatigable and a Bellerophon class including Dreadnaught of course. Also created me own Audacious class with Bold, Courageous and Daring. I tried to build a Romulan War

Ok ok, just have to ask. Any one else name their ship classes and sister ships after Trek canon? Or Royal Navy/US Navy?

3 Replies 5,397 Views

Jawohl! All i had the 1st time was a freighter sweetly orbiting awaiting orders to begin a trade route. The Yor Xport moved in for the kill. I re took the planet and purchased a defender type ship (like an attack of 1 rating and zero defense) Then 2 armed Yor xports attacked - one dying with me defender whilst the survivor re took the planet. I'd never seen anything like and i've been playing DA since it came out. Tough level with max AI setting
Although the AI does indeed sometimes put weapons on a transport, I can never recall an invasion of a planet by armed transports. Never.
Well, the Yor just did it like 3 times in a series of battles for a planet where our borders collide

1 strat that serves well - only in the early days - are cargo ships w/1 each best sensors/life support, all the engines that can fit with 1 small weapon. These cats can raise pure heck among enemies - annihilating transports, constructors, colony ships (spore ships), asteroid mine camps and defenseless Starbases. When several are used, your enemy will scream for peace in double quick time

First off, thank you very much for the attention to detail, timeliness and care you professionally bring to the game. This web site is the main reason I paid $40 bucks for the game - I saw how in depth the customer service is and I was convinced to get in it. Also, the fix you rec'ded worked like a charm. Thanks for the help. Ya'll ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
