Between yard work, getting the garden going, fixing two cars, various other spring/summer projects, moving to get new A/C and furnace, extra time at work, and trying to actually spend a little time with family . . . Unfortunately, the "pop-up" minor races can't be modded. Well, you can get at the file where the names are listed and put whatever you want there, but you can't change their stats at all. I had a great time with MOOII and always wanted to put those races in somewhere. In fact, during my playtesting I used all MOOII custom races instead of the stock majors. Made the game more fun. :)

Honestly, things are going slowly. I've done a number of fixes and tweaks, but my greatest effort is going toward bolstering the evil races. Well, I standardized the weapons techs, too. That was a big job. I'm kind of on hiatus right now. After all the effort put into getting v1.1 up and running I'm fighting off burn-out. I've also been very busy lately. Hmmm . . . I'm not sure what might be the problem. I vaguely recall having the same problem once, but I can't remember what the issue might be. Oh, I remember. It happened when I broke a race's tech tree then tried to play as that race. I don't know why it would be happening for you while using v1.1.

So, I finally had a planet defect to the I League while running a test game. One of the Krynn's worlds had the low-morale sad face and eventually split off. Thing is, there was no I League in the game. I was controlling a minor race to watch the majors develop, and the planet defected to me! Is this what normally happens?

I've never seen the I-League pop up in GalCiv2. In GalCiv1, I was usually a major cause of their formation by using my spies to tank approval ratings across the galaxy. Pure speculation, but if the mechanic is anything like GC1, the chance of a defection would be based on low approval. Man, I used to love those pop-ups. The I-League and Fundamentalists were awesome in GC1.

After the weapons and defenses, I did some work on the ethics techs and am working on the Drengin and Korath. They both still underperform in v1.1.

Ship assist modules provide a per-ship bonus. The only restriction is that you need to have a weapon to receive an attack assist or a defense to receive a defense assist. It doesn't matter what kind of weapon or defense. For example, my transport with no weapons or defenses gets no assist at all. But if I have a fighter with 1 beam attack and 1 shield defense, it will receive any and all available assists, be they beam, missile, armor, shield, whatever.&nbs

I'm not exactly sure what you mean . . . but I'll give it a try. How do you get experience? By defeating warships in combat and collecting certain anomalies that give experience. What does experience do? I think going up levels gives ships more hit points. I don't think it does anything else, but I'm not 100%.
