I always try to give my impressions of a game so that if the developers do read the forums they just might get some feed back. Disclaimer: This is MY opinion only. I'm not interested in how much of a fanboi you are or how much this game sucks. I am trying to give a frank post on MY impressions. Thess are based off my first few days. Which means i have Not by any strech of the imagination discovered or know everything about the game. Now that that unpleasantness is over lets get started.

Ta Moosetek. I don't like the engine size solution as it upsets the balance for ship construction and could screw up the AI. I just tried the program you linked for me and it worked great. Is there any word about moding range can you reduce range significantly.

Well I have the gold edition and I'm brand new to the game and the series, but I recall that there is a "project" listed on the planet that lets you destroy a building on the tile selected. Its listed as a planetary project not a seperate option/function.

I'm looking for a mod that will give the small 18x18 galaxy map the feel of a large map. As well I'm looking to an even slower tech progression rate so that you get "Eras" to ship building. I'd to see a reduction to speed and range of ships by 1/4. Ie the base speed of a ship isn't 1 pc/week but 0.25 pc/week. Is this even possible? I think I figured out what is the problem. I just discovered this game a few days ago and bought the gold edition, so i am unfamiliar with pretty much everything with the game. So When I did the mods I placed them in the mods folder and in other directories as per their instructions. I have 1.6xx version for dark avatar downloaded just the other day. Where all the confussion is happening for us new players is that it apprears that if you want to use the mods with dark avatar you have to place th

I figured it out. having bought the gold edition I did not understand that i had to place the mods in the dark avatar sub folder. the fact that that folder did not itself have a mods folder also added to the confussion. But it works now. Just added the a mods folder to the dark avatar folder and now things work.

I'm having this exact problem and the mods aren't showing up in the area where it displays the mods. I have use mods activated I have started the game many times and I can't make any changes to the mod directory and I can't select any mods. The game is not allowing me to do anything related to mod selection or directory changes.

Ok I have just bought the gold edition of the game and downloaded a few mods. I have installed them and things look ready to go. I started the game went to options I have clicked the use mods choice and for some reason I can't change the directory to get a list of my desired mods. I can't seem to get a choice for default example and my own mod folder. I have started the game multiple times and I have the use mods option selected. Can anyone explain what I've done wrong? <br

Ok I don't get it? Why is this game so hard to patch? Could anyone give me a hand? Ta. I have submited my serial number and downloaded stardock.
