I just can't seem to wrap my head around the economics of this game. I've had some success on the smaller maps and seem to be able to build whatever I want and make some money (I play on normal level). But on the bigger maps I go broke pretty quickly and everything falls apart fast. It seems I get many more anomolies much quicker on the smaller maps which gives me money and that helps, but the tourism thing I can't figure out. On a small map it gives me a good amount r

No, all the tutorials do not install. The first time I installed the original game they all installed fine and i watched them all. Then I installed the expansions (both) after they came out. But I noticed after a while that all the tutorials were not showing up any more. So I uninstalled everything and reinstalled from scratch and they still are not there. It has been a long time ago, but I remember an error message during installation that must be related,

This same thing happened to me, and I have the CD versions of all 3 games. I even tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling from scratch. Still, only about 4 or 5 of the videos show up. I have never been able to figure out why. If anyone knows please respond. Thank you.

Thank you. I previously downloaded the expansion from work and took it home, but it insisted that DL/DA be updated before it would install. Glad I ordered the CD too.

I've got the gold edition of DL/DA on cd (I think version 1.5?). I just got the new expansion cd delivered here to my office. Does the new expansion cd include the updates for DL/DA? Or do I need to download patches as well? I need to know because I don't have internet at home right now and anything I need to download I have to do it here before I go home. Sounds about right. If I start cycling through the planets all the numbers seem to eventually refresh and show correctly. Except for the income and expenses at the top of the planet list. The two are always exactly the same. The income shows correctly, but the expenses are always the same as the income.

Thanks. I also noticed that on the top of the planet list, it shows your approval and income and expenses and something else I can't remember. But the expenses are always the same as the income. It never seems to be accurate. And in the lower left hand corner of the screen it also shows you your total money and approval rating, but it does not seem to update and frequently shows slightly different than if you pull up the budget window. It doesn't seem to update immediately

Is there a toggle or a hotkey or something to turn on/off the tactical view where it switches from the 3d graphics to the 2d icons? I'd like to leave the 3d graphics on even when I zoom way out, but be able to turn on/off the 2d icons for a quick look. Is this possible? Or is the zoom setting in the options the only trigger? When you pull up the list of planets on the left side of the screen, it usually shows you a picture of each planet all zoomed out. But every once in a while, it shows a zoomed in picture of a planet surface for some of the planets. Is this supposed to mean something? Thank you.

I haven't played this game in a while, and I recently got the new expansion. For some reason I thought that only the yellow color stars had habitable planets, except for the puprple ones sometimes had really good ones. But I was playing last night and I noticed some habitable planets around an orange star. I completely missed them because I wasn't looking for them around an orange star. Has this been changed, or am I just remembering this wrong? Thank you.

Is downloading from internet the only way to get this game? I do not have internet access at home where I play the game. I can download stuff from my office at work, but I do not want to install games onto my work computer. Can anyone confirm if I can download it here at work, and then burn it onto a cd so I can take it home and install there? Is that possible, or do I have to install onto the computer it downloads to? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

I have recently purchased a new computer and installed the box set of galciv2 and expansion. I haven't played in a while so I went in to check out the tutorials and there are only 5 or 6 of them in there. I seem to remember many more. I looked in the install folder and the tutorial numbers skip around indicating a whole bunch are not there. I have looked at the debug text file and there is an error listed regarding tutorials.
