I would like to confirm this as well. I was playing on a gigantic map and this took place towards the very end of the game. I can absolutely say though that the turn button disappearing would occur over and over again after a battle occurred. Further, I could save the game when this happened, close the program and then reload. This would put me back in time with a turn button and let me delete the ships that got into a battle =). Amusingly, when I deleted enough ships, the bug eventually stopped
Due to individual tech trees, balance based on Super Ability is no longer an issue (beta for DA woulda been the time). Now you have to look beyond the Super Ability and into the unique techs the races also get/don't get.
I disagree. The unique technology trees strengthen what the subtleties of each race are (or should be) which might make changing/rethinking starting or super abilities. I also feel that the espionage bonus and super ability for the Ic
Thanks for looking into this CrazyC0330! Keep up the great work.
I haven't seen anyone mention it but I think its ridiculous that the AI for Iconians and Torians have no issue trading the precursor legacy and inherited technology techs for almost nothing, especially when they have such amazing benefits. Maybe they shouldn't be allowed to be traded at all since they're so unique and seem to rely on the races' history.
Maybe you could research a technology, construct a united planets building and/or have a certain percentage of the influence / diplomachy to be able to suggest proposals.
I think there are some GREAT suggestions/discussion on this board. I hope some of the developers are reading this.
Super abilities need looking at, but I don't agree with your suggestions. The Super Diplomat and Super Breeder abilities do NOT need to be made more powerful in any fashion, as they are already ridiculously good at what they do.
I agree with much of what astral has said but I think Starstriker1 is very correct here. I
some things i thought of as i was going through the beta: -survey moons and planets with low quality. -more interesting (rare?) survey events with choices that affect morality. -make initial range of civilizations much smaller and create an upgrade to the starport for the planet to contribute to range (this will slow down the colony rush and make it more interesting) -more invasion methods/results between races. ex. drengin use survivors as slaves (increase in production
Often I humorously find myself trading a race prerequisite technologies such as Star Republic, Alliances, ect. for their more advanced ones like Star Federation or Star Democracy.
there is no way in the seven shades of heck they could have managed to research it that fast
Haha. Yeah this happens very often to me as well. Last time I saw this with -Advanced force fields (Yor... maybe traded from a minor) -Hyperwarp III (Dark Yor) only 10-15 turns into the game with research speed "very slow". It varies from game to game but mostly occurs with minors. It can often be quite ridiculously unfair because you can easily steal or ca
Why not have it so the central mine and research matrix give a % of industry/research planet wide as well as what they do already The Temple of Memories is the same, but why not give it a 1-2% morale boost empire wide per temple like the Arcean soildering temple and boosting its morale to 30% instead of 15.
I agree with debe2233. Adding such bonuses to these unique buildings would give them lasting appeal.
I'm not sure if minors actually colonize planets. I think they might just start with multiple. Whatever is happening, I've seen them own several worlds many times. I like this. Anything that makes them a bit more interesting is good for me.
Some quick bugs noticed when playing the Torians: -the universities do no auto upgrade to cities of learning -many (or all) of the unique Torian technologies cannot be traded -temple of memories should auto upgrade to healing pools -in the inherited technologies description, there should be a period at the end. Some opinions on Torians: -cities of learning are quite poor (10tp, 5bc cost) as the final research building -need more benefits for raising large p
A later release seems necessary with these drastic changes in gameplay.
I broke down what seems to be the point equivalences of the starting racial abilities in 1.8e and it seems quite unfair for the Torians (without taking into account super abilities). Terran = 13.5 Drengin = 11.5 Arcean = 11.5 Korath = 13.5 Torian = 3 Furthermore, all races except the Torian so far start with 10pts. to choose further racial abilities while the Torian start with 8pts. 1) Is there a reason why the Torian race has such lower starting stati
I've been enjoying the expansion TA but think it could be improved. On a first pass, I felt like I was playing DA. This might just be superficial though. More specific suggestions: - On diplomacy screen, there should be some method to mouse over or right click a technology to see what its affects are. This is somewhat crucial with unique tech trees for each race being traded. - The ability to select multiple spies at once to be removed from a planet. It is somewhat pai
I wanted to confirm this bug, except I was playing Terran and invading various different Arcean planets.
