Thanks for this quality, quality advice. I'm back!!! I'm in a gigantic galaxy with abundant planets (and then hundred or so more from the mega event). I decomissioned 5 Industrial Centres on all my planets and slowly but surely I got back. Now building econ buildings. Honestly, thanks.
I'm playing the game on the hardest difficulty (I figure best to start at the top)... After about 50 games of me getting wiped out I finally got a game where I was effectively left alone and allowed to develop. It is one of the best games I've ever played, but I've ruined my economy.
