What does any of this have to do with the topic of this thread? The entire point was to talk about the Source engine being ported to Linux and the implementations there of. What does the faults and advantages of various OS' have to do with this? If you won't play a game because you need Windows to play it, then you clearly do not desire to play that game that much. The reason why no one makes large commercial games with Linux or Mac in mind is that the incentives simply do not exist. DirectX is used commonly because of it's big name support and the fact that most programmers in the industry are comfortable with it. To transition to OpenGL would require retraining and a loss of man hours. On top of this is the fact that Windows is, and shall be for a long time, the overwhelming majority of the PC userbase. I have had a great experience Vista. The start menu is vastly superior to the bloated ever expanding crap that we have lived with for so long. Of course, with the Impulse dock I hardly have to use the start menu anymore. I can't understand why everyone is so angry with the security prompts. I also love how you can be ranked last for the first 3/4 of the game. Who cares that you conquered half the galaxy, you didn't do it with high scores :P

Perhaps all research on that planet could be devoted to researching the Colonization branch.

I'm still wondering why no one objected to calling the Orbital Fleet Manager useless. On highly contested planets it would be a lifesaver. Fleet vs Fleet is definatly worth the lost space on a rather large world, as it would be better to have income for 100 turns instead of 10. ~NNMcG

Holy crap! I would shit myself if I started with that kind of planet. Evil cheating buzzards indeed. Question: How long did it take to grab the rest of their planets after taking the capital?

I need to get another game going. I got alot of stuff going on right now and no mouse, but I paid $40 for this game and damnit I wanna play it! It is too much fun to leave around wasting space.
