This isn't about a bug, but I couldn't find any better place to post it. I would like to get the heightmaps, but being on dial-up makes it impossible to get the 250 megabytes of heightmaps via Stardock Central. Is there any chance of Stardock providing the heightmaps as multiple smaller downloads accessible by direct download links? Please please please?

Thanks for that. I installed the 1.61.090 update for Dark Avatar, and it looks like the memory leak has been fixed. I tried loading a saved game, and starting a new game, and in both cases the memory used was stable. Sorry about posting the wrong DEBUG.ERR file. I didn't realise that Dark Avatar had it's own debug file. [Doh! I misspelt 'Error' in the title! Oh, the irony...]
I'm a complete newbie at GalCiv2 - I just bought the game a few days ago and I've been playing Dark Avatar 1.6 on the small map against four AI opponents, just to learn the game. This morning I loaded a saved game and after about an hour or so of play the game froze and a Windows error dialog popped up saying I didn't have enough memory (I have 1 gig of RAM and about a gig and a half of pagefile). I couldn't get the game to respond to any input so I tried to shut it down via the Windows
Thanks for the responses. I can install it on my internet computer (barely), but the internet connection is dial-up (broadband in most of Australia is stupidly slow and expensive) so downloading the whole game is not an option. Doesn't that solution mean I would have to activate the game twice - once via SDC on the internet computer and again via email on the games computer? How does that work? And from what I've read elsewhere, it sounds like I would have to reactiva
I just bought GalCiv2 Gold from an online retailer here in Australia. The disc will probably arrive in the mail tomorrow. My games computer does not have internet access. I have previously been assured by Travis G at Stardock that an internet connection is not required because I can activate the game via email from another computer that is connected to the net. After buying the game, I thought I'd check for any updates and found Dark Avatar 1.6 but I couldn't find any links to
