Ive been noticing some very weird events relating to this while using the auto-pilot. Auto-piloting ships do not move arround other ships, planets or stations (mining or starbase). This occurence is very annoying because if it happens with a race your not at war with it causes the "are you sure you wish to do this? it will start a war!" message.
