Hi there! well, I'd like to re-install GalCiv2 on my machine. I de-installed it a while ago because I added a second HD and wanted the first to be less occupied. last time I used 'Stardock Central' to patch the Game. Now my question: is SC still valid and can I use it to get the patches? Just asking because Sins Of A Solar Empire doe
the race must show relations as "Close" in the diplomacy screen.
ah.... that is what was missing. thnx a lot for your explanations. :D

another (maybe dumb) question: I can't find where or how to build an alliance with other races. there is no "offer Alliance" in the diplo screen. I researched alliances and gave the tech to all other races... also can't find anything in the manual... can someone tell me how to offer an alliance to another race? thnx in adv... KG

in GalCiv1, one of the best situations was when there was a big gap in the middle of the galaxy, so much sectors wide you had to work hard to make the recoveries early enough to reach over that gap early enough. in GalCiv2, huge Galaxies are small compared to that... Besides that, how long do you want to play on a map, say 36x36?Sounds like a full time gaming job I like to play a game for one or two weeks, some hours a day. fulltime? yes, somehow

thanks a lot for your patience... (last posts I did just after returned from a party, so pls excuse if yesterday's posts seemed unpolite) (I live in a timezone different from the forums notation, its early morning here, now) SDC definitely IS conveniant. I tried, and I am convinced. one little remark: I tried to answer this th

hm... not really advantages... the only other stardock game I own is GalCiv1... I'm not sure if I ever registered it, but surely not with this account I currently use... I don't need a download for it, because I have the original CD... just can't find the reg-key at the moment... so, SDC is not really an advantage for me... I heard, patch 1.4X is avaliable standalone... where to download it?

Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong, I read somewhere, the gameengine is limited to 18x18 sectors, hence no map greater than gigantic will be available. can this be confirmed? similar to Teemu, I would like to play bigger maps. iirc in GalCiv1 the biggest Mapsize was 24x24 ... because of the planets in GalCiv2, less systems fit into one sector. so, to have the same size of a cluster, you'll need 2x2 or even 3x3 sectors. t

so it's not "Gold", only the one that is called "limited Edition" (Metal Hardpack) it's Dread Lords, only. Debug Message: Version v1.0 last updated on: Mon Feb 6 12:52:05 2006 The most recent stand-alone update is for Dread Lords, version 1.4X fair enough... where to download it, pls?

> But the game on your machine needs to be activated. howto? > what prevents you to install Stardock Central to patch directly the game? I just don't like such an overload... a big central station to just patch one single game. and the program checks my system for stardock games and reports to stardock. this fact alone meets the definition of "spyware", even if this may be a harmless case. so, counterquestion: what prevented stardock to implement such

sure - but later. I always first test a game without patching. anyhow, thanx a lot for your help. PS: ok.. something is still not ok with the grafix: Patch the game up, or set your system to use US decimalization in Control Panel\Regional Settings (comma as place separator and period as decimal point). ok... the startup and grafix problems are solved, since I have a new machine with XPpr

is there any way to patch the game without installing "Stardock Central"? anyhow.. does it pay? was the annoying weakness of the not-actualising minimap fixed? after all, this would be the most important reason for me to patch the game... PS: where in the abyss of the forums is this topic? found it via search, but it seems not to appear in the mainlist...
