It wouldn't let me edit my previous post. If the ai is not doing well with starbases then up the difficulty level. If your playing the highest difficulty level then create some super crazy enemies. Personally I don't have this issue. In my games the ai is always building weapons for its starbases and usually not enough defenses. Yes, but what real threat are they?, go around them to the planets. If they actually increased planets defenses making them ha

Its sad to see the ai build out starbases and then I simply ignore them completely and take out their planets, I think their should be a game option added that any starbase in your home sector must be destroyed before planet invasions can be attempted. Or any starbase built within a certain range of your home planet prevents invasions until neutralized, this would greatly add to the protective layer of planets and would prevent targeting weakly defended planets that the AI doesnt defend well.
Having the exact same problem, have rerun the end game screen several times and no prompt to post scores?
Im playing a interesting game on tough difficulty and have fought a ton of battles with a few low level fighters (very slow tech speed/no tech trading) and have a level 83 fighter with 40 hitpoints, started with 8. Anyone know the max level up for these low level ships? I feel really attached to it now.
It will be very interesting to see the new starbase pods, any chance of zone of control(military bases) being in the plans?
Changes sound great, very much appreciate the hard work/hours put into this. I agree with others starbases need to be tougher esp. in the lategame and esp. the military starbase.
Exactly, that goes back to my first post, military starbases need to fire at their surrounding radius, they are the only ranged unit, imo.
The whole ability to build a military starbase in someones territory without starting a war in the first place seems odd doesnt it? I like the idea that zone of control would prevent other civs starbases being built in the zone. That way starbases help you establish space.
If you could build the starbase right over the planet, that would be helpful, I still would like to see a pod to give you a zone of control shot at passing ships, maybe just half att or slow missles, something to make the military bases a little better. The idea that bases attract ships would be hard to enforce on human players. As it is the cost to have them in the late game just doesnt== valueable.
Im playing on a tiny map, 6 civs, slow tech, no tech trading, habital planets uncommon with only influence victory on. What I like is that small-tiny ships are important for a very long time. Since mostly all the planets are home systems anything you take tends to flip back, so the ais are staying even with each other. You have alot of time to develope every possible square but you have to make hard choices. Starbases are very important and you can really buil
Yes and thats a shame, Starbases should have a ZONE OF CONTROL and be able to fire at passing enemy ships 1 hex out, I also think they should have upgrades that can increase the firing range, esp. for missles, AI bases with long-range missles would force you to build up missle defense before incursions, though each armed missle should have an expensive cost and a (reload downtime). I would only let the military starbases have the longer-range stuff. In fact only the military bases should have th
Newbie question, but I was shocked Military starbases done fire into adjacent squares at least or can they upgrade to do that in time?thx.
#1 In my book would be to find away to make the empty planets fun, either they could have special resources to mine,,artifacts hidden on them, or have a new victory (total planet count victory), in which you would have to have claim on the empty planets for them to count. With the techs involved, having so many planets with no value makes no sense to me. Kudos for everything in the game so far!
Dont know if it is exactly a Mega-event, but would like to see new artifact EVENT chases, where some enhancing/unique artifacts are placed randomly on otherwise uninhabited planets, where you search the planet squares for these special artifacts. The type of event could determine the amount/quantity of these special artifacts. Some of them could effect wealth/influence/special weapons, maybe even some unique resources (rare) that could be mined on those planets. I think there should be
If you choose to play with only 1 victory setting on, which 1 would you choose and why?
