What about diminishing returns for stuns? As in if a player has been recently stunned their next stun effect duration is lessened.

LOL oh Thygrr. I once posted a quick video on YouTube showing some SupCom action (just showing off the graphics and strategic zoom) and he felt the need to dissect my playing style on the spot from a 2 minute video. Needless to say his useless post was promptly deleted. :P As for the beta and providing feedback, its amazing the difference in quality of feedback when people have to put their money down first. Its in their best interests to provide well-constructed feedback as the more
Looks like a legitimate and sincere effort this time around, and that lessons have been learnt. Discarding the fact you had "growing" pains with Vista, you still had an OS that had plenty of other issues. Windows 7 64-bit looks like the way to go. XP is aging and the 2gb limit will start to show very soon.
Stardock / GPG have suggested so far that the direction of the game's multiplayer (such as the inclusion of tournaments) depends on how well the game goes after its actual launch. If the game becomes popular and there is a clear indication the community would really benefit from the inclusion of a tournament system they'll add it in post-release in a patch. At the moment they are just really focusing on getting the connection basics right (and by right I mean what is port forwarding ri
Hope your hard work into creating a near-foolproof system works. I personally am used to biting the bullet and setting up things on my end so there is no issue, but its always nice to have a break from having to do that and have an online system that just works. :)
Your art style for Elemental is the single best art style I've seen since TF2. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the final form.
Personally I think if you opened up the beta to the masses, the amount of quality feedback given compared to the "noise" (ie- useless posts that aren't contributory to the beta process, or people who want the game to be something else) would suffer greatly. The Dawn of War II beta just recently went open, and there is alot more noise (even to the extent of one guy saying there wasn't much action or fighting - for those who played that beta feel free to chuckle.). Not only that but mos
Looks like the beta is coming along very nicely. Too bad I haven't gotten around to buying Entrenchment yet, look at all those improvements!
Looking forward to it. You better bring back my Torchbearer, or else! [e digicons][/e]
While I can't comment on how good she is gameplay wise in Demigod having not spent a great deal of time playing her, I do know she is the single most boring demigod in the game. Generic powers and no real overall theme (unless you count healing as a theme, but thats more of a role) unlike every other demigod in the game who have relatively unique and nicely fitting powers to their look and playstyle. Props to GPG for the Queen of Thorns however, who is awesome and doesn't have Sedna's
I would like to say I'm very excited to see Demigod in its polished form, and I am definately not regretting my pre-order especially after playing around with Beta 2. Even small new additions such as the custom death animations for each Demigod really goes to show that this game is going to look and play great when its done. :)
I don't think the password feature works, as I set one on a game so I could test out the new beta build and somehow someone still managed to join. Whether it was through the lobby or from using that instant match I have no idea but something was definately up. :P
Wow Frogboy you have some cool plans for this game. Must pre-order soon methinks. ;)
Sif not have seperate real-time and turn-based strategy categories. [e digicons]XD[/e]
I recently upgraded my HD3850 to a HD4870 1GB card, and it doubled my FPS in most games. Haven't had one driver issue as of yet either. Seeing as I saw Crysis mentioned a few times, I highly recommend the CCC config mod. It basically tweaks the game behind the scenes and helps cut down on unnesscary things that just slow the game down while actually improving on the visuals.
Seeing these improvements on the animation and sound side of the engines makes me happy inside. These were the two biggest weaknesses in SupCom and its good to see they have been improved upon when using the engine for Demigod. :)
Frogboy I noticed in the second picture what look like floating point errors on some of the models (grey/white pixel specks). I get these also when using anti-aliasing (I have a Radeon HD3850) in Sins of a Solar Empire and I was just wondering if its a known issue and if it will be fixed?
Nice interview, can't wait to see some of that stuff (like the Vampire Lord general) make its way into the beta. :)
I'm not getting Far Cry 2 because Ubisoft do not know how to make current-gen games that support widescreens properly, so they won't be seeing any money from me. Doesn't help I keep hearing nothing but issues with the game and there's a very large chance we'll never see anything done about it so yeah, I'll save myself the cash and not beta test for Ubisoft. As for Red Alert 3, I'm not sure what to think. It looks flashy and all but I can't help it will grow boring real quick because it
So ... will it be better than XP and Vista? Microsoft better hope so, and I concur with Frogboy that I hope its going to be 64-bit only. I'm willing to make the change, so should everyone else.
On the subject of Far Cry 2 and its immersiveness design (including its UI), its kind of ironic the game has piss poor widescreen support isn't it. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] Even in the console versions, 16:9 and 16:10 screens actually show less than 4:3. Mindboggling.
Welcome to my PC gaming pet peeves series. My aim here is to highlight some of the more annoying aspects and trends that have been haunting modern PC gaming. First up is widescreen support. Widescreens are the standard in today's day and age. I don't think I've ever seen a new LCD or Plasma screen that was anything less that didn't use a 16:9 or 16:10 ratio. The same can be said for PC monitors, where the benefits of having a widescreen are even more numerous than that of a widescreen
My only question in regards to this mini-expansion is what is going on in regards to the fact its also being included in the big expansion pack planned later on? If I buy this mini-expansion, can I expect a discount later for the big expansion?
But Apple didn't invent it, and I know Brad Wardell will strongly attest to this (because it was from him I learnt this fact [e digicons][/e] ). Its been around for a while, its just only been popularised by Apple but it was hardly invented by them.
Yes converting media files can be a pain in the back side. I've got a copy of Ulead around here somewhere, but have never used it. I'll have to give it a try. I've been using Sony Vegas lately, seems to do the job nicely.
