I viewed the tutorials but yet I can't understand how to do things, such as counquer a planet, cause right clicking on the enemy planet, well, doesn't work. Well, first things first: Are you using transports to invade? They are (to the best of my knowledge) the only ships capable of invading.

I think the extent of starbase use is one of the random traits AI civs are given at the start of each game. The Torians may place a ton one game, and then just a couple the next. And sometimes it just gets annoying...had to declare war on the Terrans one game just becasue they had about six influence bases around my home system. Personally I like that...just another way to make every game a little different.
Just wanted to say that this is very enjoyable.
I understand Spearthower's point about the economics of the situation, but you gotta admit, it's the principle of the thing...
Here's a really simple question from a really simple guy: I am trying to install a new video card. I am replacing an old video card, and there is also one built into the motherboard. I think that gives me a total of three video cards. Given that the computer recognizes the presence of multiple vid cards, is there a way I can tell for sure which card I am actually using at any given time? My monitor is currently plugged into the newer card, but I've switched things around so
I think ReaperSpirit meant different atmosphere types in addition to the existing planet types. Although in my own way of thinking, those planets with atmospheres other than oxygen DO exist, they are simply uninhabitable. The "favored planet type" idea is kind of cool...like if the Yor could take full advantage of radioactive worlds (or barren ones, since they already have an advantage there) or the Iconians got extra bonus tiles on aquatic planets. This shouldn't be overwhelming,
I know that the AI civs love to attack whatever military rates as weakest. If you tend to focus on research early on (as I do) and don't bother putting a fleet or two out there, they will always attack you. And while I haven't played long enough to say for sure, I'm pretty sure you're right about a well-balanced economy making everyone else angry.
Does Jay Leno count as "news"? cnn.com is my homepage.
It's the new SWG (best MMO ever...well before the CU and NGE) That's nice to hear...I quite enjoyed SWG in the early days, back when it was wide open and Jedi were something to look for in the distant future. The site, like I said, isn't all that helpful though. Maybe there will be a free trial sooner or later so I can see how it feels.
I think my favorite name thus far (and that hasn't been long, mind you) was for a fast little scout ship I designed for the Terrans...the TAS Jackrabbit. I dunno why, but that little guy had character...
Just of of curiosity...what is the driving purpose behind the MMORPG Vanguard? I've been to the site and heard people talk about it, but the website at SOE says nothing about any "plot" and there is no FAQ. If anyone plays, please give me some idea of the general story. Thanks!
