Does that show the Terrans in an alliance with the Iconians? A fine way to prevent war while whittling away with influence.

Very enjoyable! Is it easier to write and maintain momentum for writing this AAR since it is more straightforward? I've got several 1/2 or 3/4 AARs that I'll never finish and I wonder if it would be easier to start out with a less complex method. Anyway, keep it up as the New Year approaches!
Success! It came to me in a dream, in which I turned on my computer and Dark Avatar started miraculously. So, this morning, after determining that it was in fact a dream and the game still wasn't working, I was filled with the vigorous spirit of repair. So, I went through a plethora of methods, including disabling my driver entirely. Finally, I stumbled onto the Troubleshoot tab on the Advanced tab of the Display settings. The hardware accelerati
Thanks anyway for your help, Kryo, I really appreciate it. Maybe in a year or two I'll get a new videocard or a whole new computer, and then you can bet that the first thing I do is fire up Galactic Civilizations II (and maybe even spring for the Twilight of the Arnor expansion).
Nope. Is there any other useful information in my debug report? If not, then it must be a deeper problem with my computer, because it doesn't run any of my other old games, either.
After 2 hours of scouring the internet, I found the latest, manufacturer-specific driver and installed it, but no dice. The only thing that has changed is the date in my debug report. In the past, I was able to play Galactic Civilizations II fine. Well, I had to have the graphics turned way down, but at least it ran. However, it had been a year or two since I played last and I decided to boot it up. Now, all it gives me is a black screen. It had been uninstalled, so this is a fresh install. Here is the debug report. Debug Message: Version v1.5 last updated on: Thu Jan 11 13:39:19 2007 Debug Message:
Well, I appreciate everyone's comments, they were all very helpful. It was basically what I expected, not much doable with such a huge population short of making a colony ship/troop transport planet. Considering the approval rating on my other planets is 100% or close, Sartorius only drops it down a little, and not enough to incite rebellion. So, I think I'm going to create a fleet of Super Colonizer and Super Trooper ships and get several billion people off my planet and then raze a
So, I reinstalled Galactic Civilizations II the other day (it had stopped working last fall for an as yet unexplained reason) and to my delight it worked perfectly well! Needless to say, I immediately immersed myself in the struggle for galactic domination. It had been a while since I played (5 or 6 months I think) and I decided to put the computer on Beginner so that I could adequately reacquaint myself with the game mechanics and subtleties before the computers overwhelmed me.
I am having problems getting GalCiv2 installed on my computer. I purchased it two days ago and had a lot of trouble getting Stardock Central downloaded, but I finally worked all that out and it runs fine. Now, however, I cannot get the game to install. - I have registered it with a valid serial #, it didn't dispute that or tell me there was a registration error. - I disabled my Norton Anti-Virus before the installation began. - I am running Windows XP.
