By default, the Dread Lords (and thus the Ori in the mod) have all techs researched at start. That includes any techs modded into the game. I know this because I added some techs of my own to spice up the game (just techs that give minor boosts to your empire in various areas), and when I ran into the Dread Lords again I ended up stealing one of those custom techs from them in an invasion <IMG id=ImageResize_Image_7 src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Gasp

i have a sweet idea................dread lords...........equal...........ORI =D!! Uh, it's pretty much a done deal. But, that gets me thinking. The Ori would definitely have access to unique and especially rotten Influence and Invasion Techniques involving Priors and their superhuman arsenal.
Interesting and unique solution. But could it been done is the $64,000 question. I'll have a snoop around and see if this is going to be an option. Anyone else know how this could be implemented? One idea that just came to mind is to have the Tok'ra be a new and unique Political Party tha
If it hasn't been mentioned all ready, I'd love to have Constructors project the range of potential Starbases before they're built so we can plan the best place to deploy them without having to take measuring tapes to the monitor
also just saying that the tok'ra should be miners not majors Ok. All well and good but can you eleborate? It's fine you think that but why not make them majors. They are space faring and they are an integral part of the Stargate universe. Given the Tok'ra's covert nature, I have an idea for a compromise assuming GC2/DA allows for this: The Tok'ra would not be exposed as a separate faction at the start of
Sounds like the problem is that the Dread Lords announce their presence way too soon. It'd be more insidious if they arrived in those itty-bitty colonies the same, except no Big News Flash about their appearance. Plus they shouldn't show up on scanners unless you have a live ship in that area. Frankly if the Dread Lords saved their big press conference for when they've built up a decent force, then that would be truly scary.
Except it seems there's no open intention of making a patch for GC2 which means either sucking it up or buying DA to get the 1.6 patch when it comes out
Metal Scarcity A metal-eating virus spreading through mining colonies has depleted a substantial amount of metal used for the construction of starship internal structures. The production time, purchase price and maintenance cost of vessels above Medium scale are doubled for the rest of the game.
Here's a Unique Technology for the Lucian Alliance: Mitchell: Get all the population jonesing on space corn. I dunno... Kassa Farm A Kassa Farm on a given planet will provide the following modifiers, all of which are cumulative with additional Farms: +10% Income from your Freighters making trade stops on this planet +10 Influence versus a world that has a trade route with this planet -10 to Diplomacy when
Will this patch only work for Dark Avatar?
The Sangraal Monkeywrench This Mega Event can be derived from any numerous reasons, whether the discovery of Precursor godnuke devices or some supreme intelligence deciding it doesn't like potential competetion amongst many others. However the means, when this Mega Event occurs Tech Victory no longer becomes an option for winning the game. This Mega Event could be triggered if TVs occur at a certain frequency.
Is there a complete list of existing Mega Events somewhere? Just as reference so we don't come up with "new" ideas that have all ready been covered.
while a faction in play possesses the Sangraal nobody can win by a Tech Victory. Could this be modded? Not sure i have ever come across anything in the XML's preventing something like a Tech Victory. Maybe it can be coded so the very possession of the Sangraal by an active faction blocks research access to the final stages of the Tech Victory? And if possible list the Sangraal as the reason it cannot be researched
There's one distinct idea that should be implemented. The Sangraal. Basically it would be a Unique Artifact that serves as a spoiler. The research and contruction cost for it would vary, but basically while a faction in play possesses the Sangraal nobody can win by a Tech Victory. In addition, if the Sangraal is sent to the Ori homeworld and activated, the faction is either wiped out outright or they suffer severe and permanent penalties.
