The three types of weapons are the Beam Weapons (Laser,Phasor,Disruptor...) Missile Weapons (Stinger, Harpoon Missile...) and the Mass Driver Weapons (Mini-Balls, Railgun...). It could be the mission. Sometimes, certain techs are restricted. BTW ,which campaign is it? Dread Lords or Dark Avater?It's Dread Lords-if I play in sandbox mode all the types are there-but you can clearly see two branches missing in this mission.Is there somewhere it lists

Hi, I tried listing this in general topics,but maybe I should post it here. I'm in the 2nd mission of galcivII and a window comes up and states i have 3 choices for space militarization,however the research tree only lists lasers,and all that follow. The two other branches of the tree are clearly gone. If I go into sandbox mode they're in place. Is this a bug,or simply part of the campaign?Thanks

Hi, I'm sure this is a real noobie question, but I recently bought Gal Civ II and decided to play through the campaign. I'm on the second mission and started researching space militarization: the game screen says I have three options (lasers,mass weapons and one other), however on the research tree only lasers are listed.I remember seeing the others on the demo,but for the life of me I can't find the other two. Is this a bug or simply the way the campaign is set up? Thanks

[B]Make sure you buy it retail and not used don't make the mistake i did i bought it on ebay then right when i got it i couldn't activate it and couldn't patch it. Good to know! I had actually been looking at eBay prices;so if someone registers the game and then sells it you can't load patches? Think I'll just hit the brick and mortar stores. Thanks

Thanks for all the feedback! I think I'll go ahead and get the gold version with DA.It's probably cheaper to get the combined package, rather than but them separately anyway.

I just down-loaded the demo of GC2 a few days ago and wow what a great game! I haven't played a turn-based game in ages so I was a little hesitant whether I would like it.But when the demo ended i about fell out of my chair; I kept looking at the clock thinking ok its only 2am where can I pick up a copy. Anyway, the question I had was whether i should just get gal.2 or the gold exp. with Dark Avator? How much of a difference does the exp. add? Thanks

I was just wondering I was thinking of bidding on a used copy of Gal Civ 2 on eBay and the seller stated he lost the serial number off the back of the box. Is the serial number required for updates, patches etc... Thanks
