Simply eliminate the "someone must survive" rule. This rule seems very gamey and counter intuitive to me. I would think it would be better to remove it. If both your ships destroy each other in one shot, oops, oh well, better invest more in defenses next time. You both died. Suck it up and move on. If the defenses aren't an adequate protection, then I think weapons are proportionally too powerful.
Sign me up as an avid multiplayer supporter. All it would take is hotseat mode, basically, and it seems like Stardock is already at least halfway there!
Sounds like an awesome set of new features! How hard would it be to add slightly better support for hot seat mode? You guys are about 80% of the way there already, by using the ctrl+shift+z command. All that remains is to somehow keep the AI from making decisions for the second player when the 'End Turn' button is pushed.
Ah I see, thanks. That web page was most helpful. So far it seems to me you must do this a) First player does his turn, selects ship of second player, hits ctrl+shift+z. b) Second player does his turn, selects ship of first player, hits ctrl+shift+z. c) First player hits 'end turn' button. The only problem seems to be that sometimes the AI takes over and does wierd stuff for the second player in between when he does his turn and the end turn button his hit
I don't care if it's built in hot seat of a 'cheat enabled' hot seat or a modded hot seat. I'm simply looking for some way for my brother and I to play each other, with other AI opponents, in the same game. Since all combat is autoresolved it seems like it should work out fairly well, and as we both love the game we'd dearly enjoy a chance to smash each others fleets to splinters Am
The red background makes me think they should be called the National Socialists. Nit picks: (1) How does America conquer the entire earth when the American Military can't even conquer a single backwater Middle East Country? (2) Given that Bush has only daughters, it is extremely unlikely for him to have descendents bearing the Bush surname. (3) How do unarmed ships 'gua
I am running GalCiv2 Gold, DarkAvatar 1.50x3. Going through the dreadlords campaign, I crash out when trying to start the Ixith mission *every time*. This is extremely repeatable and extremely annoying. Is there some update or something to fix a corrupted campaign file I need to do? The first thing I did when I installed the game was do the updates from Stardock...
