Lol, the True Path of Hitchhiking is long and tortuous, but it might yet draw me in... Five books you say, mmmmm. Is it the sort that you wish that the finishes but at the same time wish it never does, if you get what I mean?? Five books yeah, but they are pretty short and easy reading. Also yes, it's the type where you just keep wanting more. Also, the series, the books, the movies - they are all a bit different but it's okay as Douglas Adams himself

BUT! I agree that the Oreo would be a cool frood to have narrate an AAR. I agree as well, I'm sure it would be an enjoyable read. I've also been thinking about doing an AAR, with a disctinct Hitchhikers's theme. Still working over the details in my head but it would be a game which I would post, win or lose, on the meteverse. Now, I doubt anyone would learn anything from my stategies or lack thereof - still learning the ropes. (Just finished my

Thanks, nice to be aboard. I just had a technological victory the other day and um...the answer really is 42. In fact, I think there are more references to Hitchhikers in this game than to many of the other homages here and there. I personally was quite surprised by the Monty Python tribute. Very nice.

I know this sounds odd, but how do you delete a race that you accidentally created and don't want to be in the game when you select random races? What I mean is this. When I first started playing I would use an existing race but give them a different name or picture. Now, when I get to the choose opponents screen, those additional races are available. For example I have the Dominion of Korx but also the Korx Traders that I played as one time. And I don't want to start a new game w

Thanks for all the good tips. I finally set up an account on Metaverse so I can keep track of my scores and move up the ranks. I actually started on beginner, not easy (which is lower), so I'll do a few experiments and see what works and then graduate to the higher difficulties. Also, it's nice to see the different stategies can be effective and it doesn't all come down to one way in the end. I've got to manage my planets better which is what I'm working on now. In mid-game, with

Hadn't thought about getting the approval to 100, everything else I had read talked about raising the taxes at the beginning. I'll try that on my next game. Also, I've tried focusing on economics or research at the beginning, but having no military really seems to effect the way other civs see you, namely without any respect. Although building a bunch of defenders did counteract that negative popularity, which I could then upgrade once I do get attacked... Those who successfu

I've read a lot of helpful pointers on the forums here and some of the stategy guides, and they did help me get the basics down. I've played a few games on "easy" difficulty and had a couple of victories. Then I started on the next level, "normal". I can't seem to get ahead. By changing my stategies around, I can start off pretty strong, but once I get into mid-game, with the wars here and there, I find myself starting to fall behind in every category. (I have been trying large galaxy with
