So, I looked around and found another tip to try running the game in windowed mode and that did not help either. What did seem to work was running the game with the "Run as administrator" box checked. This game should not have to be ran in admin mode should it?

I am also experiencing crashes on Windows 7 x64. My NVidia drivers are the latest version. I have changed the prefs.ini file to match my desktop resolution but I can not get past creating the world before I crash. It seems there are a lot of files that can't be found on all of the above debug reports as well as the final entry: Debug Message: Error flipping back buffer to primary buffer. I get the same error. My guess is that the game is hard coded to check for the direct x 9 files and since the version of direct x in windows 7 is not the same you get the error. Just a guess.
