I've been searching for a printable tech tree for Dark Avatar that shows all of the information you can find on the in-game tech tree...so far I haven't found one that shows everything. In particular, I'd like one that shows what ships can be built with each tech. Conversely, it might be useful if there is simply a list of all ships that shows all of the techs that are required for each. Has anyone come across anything like either of these?

How often do I bring up the option screen during a game? Basically, never. How often do I want to close an active window? Rough guess: >1000x. And there are already two ways to bring up the option screen: F8 & menu via mouse. So the escape key is, how should I say, slightly redundant. Please, please. please make the escape key 'close active window' again. I feel exactly the same way. I hate to keep harping on this...but I still haven

I use escape to close open windows, but I don't know about tab. All open windows? Some windows, such as the ship/planet list and finance management screen, do seem to close when I press "ESC", but not the colony management, research, or civilization manager screens. Is there some patch I'm missing? I'm playing Dark Avatar that came with the Gold Edition and I visited Stardock Central a day or two ago and downloaded the most recent patch available for

What I would like to know is how to close the windows like "Colony management" or "Start Port" using keyboard ? In manual Enter and Esc have description "Close current window" but the first one only ends turn and the second one always brings up the options window, a bug perhaps ? And yeah, the Enter and Esc keys are screwed also ( pretty brain dead design, to make one key nominally do t

Hmmm, I just figured out that if you press the "F11" button it will take you back to the main screen from any of the other screens. But it's not a perfect solution. The real purpose of the "F11" button is to minimize or expand the interface on the main screen. So, each time you hit the button it will take you from any screen to the main screen, but it will also minimize or expand the interface depending on the status of the interface the last time you were on the main screen. I've searched t

I've noticed that when I have the colony management, research, or civilization manager screens open, I have to move the mouse and click on the "done" button in the lower right corner in order to return to the main screen. Isn't there a keyboard short-cut for this? Out of habit, I keep hitting the "ESC" button expecting it close these screens and take me to the main screen, but of course this doesn't happen and I end up on the "options" screen. It's driving me nuts. Thanks for any help provid

The more I look at this stuff, the more it makes my head spin. I think I understand income fairly well, it is the spending/expenses/production stuff that messes me up. Here are some further thoughts: 1. I have no idea how taxes are calculated. All I know is it depends on your population. I suppose if you turned taxes to 100% and then checked how much money you were making (adding back your expenses), you could find out how much each 1 billion people wer

I'm having a hard time understanding the financial/production aspects of the game. I just want to understand where all the values come from and how they are calculated. For example, on the homeworld screen, "Military", "Social", and "Research" are listed at the top. I presume that this is the amount of production that goes into creating ships, creating buildings (labs, farms, etc.), and researching technologies, respectively, and, therefore, it determines how long each task takes to
