TERROR??? TERROR??? HUH???? Whoever they tell us is a terrorist!!!!!! Who is/was responsible for the following 20-21st Century terrorisms? 1. The Holocaust. Same nation starved to death 3 million Russian prisoners of war. Long list of other horrors. 2. Butchery of the Philippines 1900-1904, 10,000s dead.(Hint - read Mark Twain) 3. Phoenix program 1962-1975 Vietnam, 2 million civilians murdered & thousands of villages flattened.<

I see my critique has been referred ---. 2 Patches later, (1.1 & 1.2) have fixed some glaring programming errors & omissions by the Paradox programmer. The Paradox Forum has numerous complaints from E3 owners (and much praise). The complaints are similar to mine. Imagine buying a car, where you have to return to the dealer to get several major overhauls - before your car runs correctly!!!!!! Softwear manufacturers now put blockers in their softwear. As it
I couldn't resist the bright silver box in the toy store. I have perused the Original Europa 1-2 (same), & Hearts of Iron 1-2 (same with different design flaws), & am dinking around with E3. The following is, or course, my own opinion. The only opinion that counts - is yours. I critiqued HOI 1-2 on the Paradox forum; It was not well received by the knee jerk Fanbois (understandably, as it is their own forum). E3 I'll get to the point/s. 1. Th
For the Anarchist Republic! Lev bronstein ? Are you okay? I mean seriously... are you? Evil Stormbringer, My children would agree with yo
I know I've attempted to sell this idea before, but in the context of this thread, I will briefly restate. GC2 is a lovely balanced game; therefore, for a future GC3 - I would like... 1. A realistic 3D universe (similar to that in Homeworld ) 2. Combine turn-based building/researching with REAL TIME Space & Planetary combat (similar to that in the Total War Series ). This change will convert a somewhat dry game into a much more inte
Am I having funnn!!!?? I'm enjoying all the fine responses. One of them encouraged me to purchase Neverwinter Nights "Diamond." It is on sale with the original game, the 3 expansions, & all the patches - $20.. I was told by the store manager to avoid Neverwinter II . - which is same advice I received by a responder to this thread. It' snowing (heavily); so I'm enjoying a
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I would love to see a GC3 with the Homeworld innovations of (1) 3D Universe & (2) real time space battles. Let's have a GC3 with turn based building & decision making combined with more exciting space & planet warfare on a realistic 3D universe. The fine people at Stardock can do it. My grandmother taught me not to be afraid to ask. " A single dream is worth a thousand realities ."
Ahh Homeworld! Homeworld was the most beautiful & innovative RTS spacegame ever invented. Its 3D space & space travel - combat remains the standard to beat in 2007. The colors, the music..... Converseley, the resource management was unforgiving . If you purchased one ship too many, - end of game. The space travel was rightly difficult; how many times I could not find my fighters in that vast 3D universe. The Mother Ship wa
Sorry, Yes- Heroes of Might & Magic 4 . I liked being able to battle with the heroes, the fact you didn't need the CD to play, the artwork & the music. I remember HOMM 3 was nice; only played it briefly; would like to find a copy. " A single dream is worth a thousand realities ." Tolkien
Forgot the Civ series & Sid Meiers. Civ 4 was the best of the Civs. I enjoyed the artwork, but usually quit shortly after gunpowder was invented. I find GC2 to be much more enjoyable. The combat of Civ 4 was poorly depicted/boring. The gameplay of Civ 4 has not appreciably changed/improved from Civ 1 . I would put the Civ series in a middle category of neither good, nor bad. But that's just me. " A single dream is worth a thousand
Yipes! Somehow not surprising. We are being forced to switch to Vista. Thanks, Marcus Cardiff, for sharing this. " A single dream is worth a thousand realities ." Tolkien
As I win several games on the tough level (in this case GC2), I begin to get bored (no reflection on the excellent GC2). As with all fine games, Chess, Poker, Talonsoft series, after a while I look forward to the next generation of new PC Games. While waiting, I like to discuss how we gamers like our PC games. Sometimes I learn of a game I have not heard about & will enjoy playing. I wonder what our finest & worst game lists include. I begin. I recognize that my c
I have 1 question. Why didn't the developers have more civilizations - led by sexy/fascinating women, such as Gaia & Santiago in AC , the Babe (forget her name) in MOO2 , etc. etc.? You would think that women led civs would have certain advantages over the other civs. Once they begin to cry, you take a -5% hit in Morale. Furthermore, your soldiers & spaceships w
Thanks for the responses. I imagine a workable 3-Dimension universe would be quite a leap for a turn based Space Civ game. Most strategy gamers, (including me) could usually care less about glitz. We want a decently crafted game - first & foremost. However, when something even rarer than an honest politician, a decently crafted strategy game, is a reality, then one's thoughts turn to fancy (er. glitz). The colors & much artwork in GC2 are quite nice. I would prefe
Welcome gentlemen, (I use that term lightly) . This is my first post; altho I have often perused (& enjoyed) the forum. GalCiv II is NOT my favorite PC game; It is my ONLY PC game . Chessmaster 9000, & AOE 2, & Hoyle Casino, don't count (they are only on my computer for brief changes of pace). I have seen a lengthy thread on suggested improvements for GC2 & agree with 90% of th
